@Helen

The old herbalist stared at her with his beady eyes. After what seemed like an eternity he shook shook his head resignedly.

"Well if you insist. Just so long as your money's good."

Helen got Heal Staff!
650 Gold removed from party funds.

"Haa, why did they have to go on journey now, got any ideas on what to do now mister?."

Bastion nods at the girl next to her.

"I reckon we should be going soon, let's return back. I might have some stories to tell on the way back too. "

@Helen

The old man looked at Helen quizzically, now even more confused by her actions.

"You've changed your mind that quickly? Kids these days... Fine then. You can have your money back. Normally I'd say that all purchases are final, but I'm in a good mood today. My son brought the grandkids over to a visit last night."

Recounting the money from the shop coffers, he placed them on the counter and slid them over to Helen.

650 Gold added to party funds.
Helen Troy lost Heal Staff!

~~~
All stocked up, the mercenaries were now ready to leave the city. Without a minute to lose, they hurried their way down the eastern road. There pace hastened by the alarming announcement from Andrew that they were already several hours behind schedule. Soon their surroundings gave way to wilderness.
~~~

The party had already been traveling for two days now, following the path of the Merili River. The journey had gone on without incident so far, some of them familiar with the roads they had traveled up until now.

However, now their path had brought them to the base of the Hersius Mountains. It was common knowledge that one needed a guide to cross over them safely and timely. To their surprise however, after consulting their map Andrew had claimed to know a shortcut through the caves.

Letting him take the lead, he brought them north. And then south. And then for some inexplicable reason, west. After some protest they doubled back to the mountains, and began combing the edges in search of… whatever passage their client had been searching for.

After hours of searching, Andrew brushed aside some tree branches as he plowed his way through the underbrush.

  “It’s over here guys, I found it!”

The mercenaries gathered around him, and saw concealed behind the plants was a gaping maw in the earth. The opening to a massive cave stood before them, half sunken into the ground.

Before
As she was following her party member back he stopped to pay her respect at where a old stone was placed.

"Mom, I'll find papa and sis and bring them home."

---------------------------------------------------------------
Now

Shion lowered her tired head after walking for so long.

"Are you sure this is right way and not like last few times?, anyways this tunnel thingy seems dark and gives off strange smell mister."

Sprook stares into the mouth of the cave before looking at the others.

"I'd be willing to go ahead especially now that I have a knife as well."

Brecht regarded the entrance to the cave with disdain. Nothing heroic ever happened in caves as far as he knew. He could barely believe it was their reward for hours of searching. "And this is the way forward as determined by our employers, is it?" The mage had been grouchy all morning, and there had been no sign of the book he'd previously been writing on since he'd donned the old cloak he was wearing. When one of his compatriots volunteered to head in first, he grimaced. "As you like, I suppose."

sprook looks at Brecht interested and takes his knife out twirling it before resheathing it and in a friendly tone.

"You afraid of the dark or are you afraid of what can lurk in it?"

The mage's frown deepened. "I take caution in places where poisonous creatures lurk. Moreover, I am not fond of dark, damp places."

Sprook shrugs relaxed and seemingly unworried.

"I personally find the dark kinda cool and comforting at times,I'm kinda weird like my dad though so it's probably not normal to like the dark."

Bastion walks up next to Sprook and pats him on the back.

"Don't worry young Sprook, you dont have to be the man to lead, leave it to grandpa and my fine crafted armor. Whats the wait?"

"Sure baldy will do as the first to die."
With a playful shove she nudges Bastions towards the cave.
"Go forth our brave hero."
