Mongo, who had been meticulously sorting the medical supplies, left medical tent five at Ormuz's demand.

"I have channeled under and assisted some of the finest ward-masters of Woodleaf - Masters Rowanshot and Storyroot, to name two - and personally helped refresh the great redirection ward around Hidden Cove.

I question whether your slapdash effort can even handle the power to dry us for a day, but even half that would be worth it."

((Action updated to help with the ward. I need it so we don't all die of rot and plague and utter misery and I regret suggesting a rainy destination.))

After hiding with his thoughts for half a day, Mongo rallies and commandeers the efforts of a handful of laborers.

"You three, I need a circle of tents set-up over this way ... Yes, you! Do you want the infirmary exposed to the rain? I can't heal like this. Ah- You, there! Find where the medical supplies are hidden.

Hurry it up. Someone has already managed to hurt themselves, I'm sure of it."

Minor: With the help of a few non-lumberjack laborers, set-up eight tents in a circle; declare it to be the infirmary, and get medical supplies sorted out. (My own tent will be very closed to the infirmary).
Major: Wait at the infirmary for the inevitable flood of casualties.
Major: Help with the anti-rain ward as a channeler.

((Something wrong with my major actions, or are they going to get resolved later?))
((Resolved along with everyone else's major actions. Otherwise we get weird time shenanigans.))

I look for any likely points to find dead beastys, might as well get myself some help with setting up; right?

I then attempt to findout what supplys we have, asking anyone that might know.
[15, Good] The jungle, while certainly full of beasties, also appears to be full of hungry beasties. You're not too sure how you're going to find dead-yet-uneaten subjects around here.

...until you notice the hunters and soldiers. The hunters will probably have use of the beasties they kill, but they'll probably go out and kill them. The soldiers might or might not be looking for a fight, but are less likely to claim their corpses. Following either around might net you something, assuming they do anything this week.

[13, Good] You're able to uncover that the expedition has a rather large, rather varied selection of supplies; narrowing down your search might reveal more useful results, as none of the bureaucrats or captains you talked to felt like rattling off a full list for you or letting you borrow an official manifest. You do learn that most of the supplies are bulk essentials, like food and wood, along with a sizeable collection of rare tools and components that nobody would be especially thrilled to find you using.

((I see, I see. Quite, reasonable issues. However, presumably our Architect has both leadership and architectural skills? Possibly along with a bureaucrat as well. If I can convince him to create this area, giving him my somewhat vague ideas for what I want, and leave the details to his own whims, would that be a better way of handling the project? And then that would be only a minor action? If that's possible that's clearly a better way of doing it, and I only avoided it because I wasn't sure if you wanted big important actions like that to take up a major action, even if our part in it was unimportant. Of course, this does rely on personal charisma to motivate them to actually work.... Which is why I'll try going though Gruelfist/Miya first I guess.

Also, how helpful would I be if I helped set up the wards against the rain that Omuz is making? I mean, obviously my magic is uniformly awful for it, but I am at least presumably one of the top eight channelers around here.))
((Architect doesn't have leadership, even though getting planners to lead is a good idea. Bureaucrats and captains all do, so convincing one or more bureaucrats to officially lead a group of others is a good way to get a project going.

Convincing somebody else to do work for you is a minor action, but it's reliant on them actually doing so and then leaves it up to their personal direction rather than your own. You can try to direct them, but there's only so much micromanaging most Leaders are going to tolerate, and there's only so much micromanaging that's actually going to be feasible coming from somebody who's not devoting time to actually working on the thing.

That said, if you can convince them and aren't too picky about the results, hey, free action.

You're indeed one of the top channelers in the colony, and could thus boost attempts at a rain ward by 3 units an action.))

((I think the wards are probably one of the most important things for us all, ooc at least I don't exactly need compensation for us to set them up. I am, after all, a rat, I need to burrow into the ground and I can't very well do it if the whole place is made of mud!  :P. Maybe we should grab more then 1 channeler npc though, unless the others need them we might as well use up to the most effective amount.))
((You guys can try grabbing more, I don't trust my diplomacy enough for that lol.))

((Ask miya she'd be happy to help she likes being useful.
Omuz glares at the other wizards, just standing around doing nothing worthwhile, thinking happy thoughts or some such rot.

"Oi! You lazy bastards over there! Stop wasting air and help me get us all dry! Do a good job, and I might consider gifting you with some fine dwarven golems! Of course, it seems doubtful that any of you'd be much help. I suspect I have more magical skill in one beardhair than the lot of you put together!"

Minor Action: Make a shitty mud golem.
[6, Poor] It looks like it's melting. Which it is, but it looks like it's been melting for a while and is about to fall apart, which just isn't true. Okay, yes, it'll probably fall apart the instant you look away, but it's fine right now! Fine-ish.

For those who aren't in the know, Favored Souls don't have Knowledge (Religion) as a class skill, which likely explains Miya's cluelessness.

Continue eating happiness until my affinities shift. Make the soldiers happy by singing happy songs to them. Infuse some rope with raw Happiness, and make a leash out of the resulting substance. Capture a beast from the pit with my new Happy Leash, and put it in an appropriate area (likely Sjig-Nak's pen area). Study the beast if I can.
((Harvesting enough essence to perform major actions with is a major action. That's true of minor actions as well, but they're semi-free so it doesn't come up as much; you can just take the minor action to eat things and then take the minor action to spend them. With major actions that obviously becomes more of a calculation.))

((Action updated to help with the ward. I need it so we don't all die of rot and plague and utter misery and I regret suggesting a rainy destination.))
((Thanks Nirur! This was an awesome idea.))

(Quoted for gm convenience)
((Hey, that is convenient.))

[9, Poor] A few grumbling laborers help drag tents around, then help drag crates of medical supplies around. Someone was very helpful and decided that lightly stamping crates with uncolored symbols would be sufficient to differentiate them. This makes it "easy" to find all the medical supplies in the pouring rain, but doesn't tell you what's in them other than "medical supplies."

Cracking some open and checking reveals mostly bandages, thread, and splints, with a healthy minority of medicinal bottles and more specialized or nuanced gear. You note with some alarm that the crates aren't keeping the bandages dry.

Whelp, I'd best start following the soldiers around, I am one of the few people that can put them back in one piece again after all... and if they aren't doing battle, I could pick up some tips on killing things!

((Pifffff These aren't going to be like, birthing vats or whatever, one mans hole is as good as another to me. Besides, no matter what process I go though in the end anything good is my work and anything bad is someone elses fault, so might as well go for the max good min work strategy.))

"Yes yes! This is a good plan that will inevitably end up saving us all from the dreadful predation of the wrathful skys forever or possibly for a limited or nonexistent amount of time! Before we start this grand and glorious undertaking though I must take care of a very vital and endlessly important situation that immediately calls for my attention at the current moment! I shall meet back up with you all shortly and quickly and certainly soon to keep my word in this endever and this is certainly not a sign of me welching on our glorious plans together! MIYA! Since you are one who likes the duplicity of pretending to be of subservient to others for your inevitable secret mechanisms I would order you most authoritatively and yet apprehensively and knowingly to come with me on this task for your ability to break the minds of any social imposition upon you would become of great use to me and your subservience in this matter can only cause to further whatever dark designs you have over us all I assure you!"

Ask for Miyas help on a minor task

Send happiness to ATHATH's character with orb.
In a hesitant voice but without her usual tremor.

"Yes yes! The duplicity is now complete and our working together shall certainly and undoubtedly become the most fruitful and least deadly to the participants gathering of mages within recent or not so recent times! What I require is simple and not at all hard by reckoning although possibly quite difficult by others! I need to convince these lay about civlians to proceed with work on my laboratory and work area which is certainly the greatest and most rewarding task they could possibly be a part of short of possibly slaying the gods of rain in this world! I shall give them their tasks and inform them of what I wish and when they inevitably look at me as if they or perhaps I have recently ingested a large number intoxicating poisons in that oh so infuriating tradition you shall convince them that my order is worth following! But first we must find and talk to Gruelfist to make sure that he will not seek eternal vengeance against us for these actions!"

Seek out Gruelfist and get his permission to snag carpenters, bureaucrats, miners, and the Architect for a relatively long term construction. Assuming he gives his permission, go out and try to convince them to work for me, with Miyas help if it's required. I don't have specific plans, I just want pens and pits that can hold beasts. And possible a work area with a roof if that can be fit in. If they, for whatever reason, think my prepicked area sucks and can find a better one, sure, I'll do as they wish.

((I do not know how to deal with this.))

Minor action: Get a bureaucrat to deal with the spoiling medical supplies.

"The medical supplies are all going to be ruined by the rain because some imbecile didn't waterproof the crates and I'm not authorized to claim half of a ship deck for drying space."

Use holy magic to make a holy shield above blacktongue to protect blacktongue from the rain she will help convince the lumberjacks if absolutely nesscary.
