Dr. Matthias stood by Wallace, trying to get a sense of how well off the village was. As he observed the faces of the residents his eyes drift to the government structures. He'd probably get a good sense of how the town was fairing and what assistance they could offer there. "I should speak with whomever's in charge and figure out how best we can get lend a hand. Maybe they could use a doctor in exchange for supplies."

Strawbarrel: While you dont know exactly how the poles typically go about with their training, you see enough to determine that these guys have next to no experience but do have a fair amount of organization. The guys armed with assault rifles seem to have more experience, they where probably police of some description.

Knave: The village appears to be scraping by, barely. They do seem healthy enough, although they could probably use a more balanced diet.

Yes please. Hopefully someone in charge will have some English. Otherwise I suppose we'll have to wait for Funk to be done with the market excursion :)

Lilya fingered the coin in her pocket as she walk around the market.
The gold coin was a small Krugerrand, from her survival kit, the last of here money she noted.
Well the last of it anyone would take, paper rubles where now only good for toilet paper.

Now all she need was a bottle or three of what ever passed for vodka around here...
(I have $5 left from my equipment allowance.)

Then i'll go join with the others and find out who ever's in charge.

Lilya searches for a while, but it appears that this settlement is another one of thoses that is mandating that food remains food, or if it is distilled that it goes into medications or military uses. However, just before she gives up she spots a vender with various unlabeled bottles for sale that they seem unwilling to speak to her about.

"No alcohol? What is wrong with them all?
Half the world has been blown to rubble!
We need drink! I must have drink!"
Lilya mutter to her self in Russian shocked by the lack of drink for sale.

join with the others and find out who ever's in charge.

The governmental offices are built just outside what appears to be a former farm, now clearly turned into the villages military outpost. Within the structure the group (minus Kelper, who is sitting on the grass outside) finds itself in a small lobby, complete with a desk , a receptionist, and someone who appears to have been waiting for their turn for the past ten years. One of the walls is covered in fairly low-quality posters, most talking about the importance of rationing and hygiene.

There is a pair of large bulletin boards on one wall, one taken up with a closely spaced list of names, the other with various notices and the like.

The Doctor walked inside assessing the situation as best he could, keeping an eye out for anything written in English he peered over the bulletin boards with mild interest, a hand stroking his stubbled face absent-mindedly. After taking a moment to peer at his surrounding he strode over to the receptionist and offered an easy smile. "Hello, hopefully you speak English. I am Captain Matthias." He was beginning to think he would never find another English-speaking person again. he continued, his tone friendly, but with an air of authority coming from years of officer training "We're looking to see what the situation is here. What sort of help is needed and such. We'd like to speak with the person or people in charge."
