 The Doctor, with Lilya attempting to translate for him, delivers his request to the receptionist, who motions for the group to wait for a moment and take a seat, before pressing a button on the desk. One of the doors opens to admit a messenger of some description, who has a short conversation with the receptionist before leaving the room, heading deeper into the structure.


Straw, quick observation roll please?

 You note that there are various posters that appear to be for jobs on one of the notice boards, along with a poster that exclaims in atleast six languages, including English, that the war has apparently ended. Well, except for the Germans.

 Actually, there appear to be a few posters like that, one ordering the reporting of any Germans seen.



 After roughly a quarter of an hour the messenger returns, nods to the receptionist, and beckons to the three.

Wallace is rather surprised of the multilanguage posters, but what alarmed him the most are wanted posters for Germans. Are they persecuting ethnic Germans? Is there a dangerous band of German marauders around? Or is it just bad English? Whatever the notices mean, the large man looks aways from them, nods, and follows the receptionist.

Matthias had felt like he had been sitting in the waiting room for an eternity. Looking at the same smattering of posters over and over again as he sat quietly. He had the urge to ask more about the 'WAR OVER!' poster, but he imagined that even if the receptionist could understand English, she would be too busy or disinterested to even try and explain properly. Hopefully those in government, or at least whatever was passing for government here would be able to give him and the rest of his team a clearer picture of what was happening in this part of the world.

As the messenger beckoned the group to follow them, the Captain rose from his seat, glancing over at Lilya and Wallace, he was interested to know what they thought of this whole situation. He turned to follow his guide further into the building.

 The guide leads the group through the building's twisting corridors, some apparently pre-war, others newly built. Finally, they reach a door containing what sounds like two elephants fighting, who promptly desist as the messenger, now clearly ill at ease, knocks at the door.

 A short while later the door is wrenched open, revealing another soldier, who nods to the messenger and asks the group in, in English noless.

 You find yourselves within what is clearly some form of conference room, containing a table, a few chairs, the polish standard, a map of the surrounding area, the soldier who answered the door, and two clearly angry officials.

 The first official, some form of army officer, is a short, heavyset balding man, with rage in his eyes and a nose that looks like a beet.
 
 The second, a civilian, is taller and shows the signs of one who has lost large amounts of weight. He also retains a head of black hair, offsetting the still ruddy nose of years of vodka consumption.

The big Navy SEAL raises his already tall straighten frame. This is not an inspection from the admiral, but he thinks it is the least he can do, perhaps even the most he will do. Earlier that morning there was an argument that Wallace mostly stayed out of. When he arrived back at noon, there was no argument in sight. Maybe the same will apply here.

Dr. Matthias made his way into the conference room, offering an appreciative, "Thank you for seeing us." Taking in his surroundings, he took careful note of the map to see if it provided any useful situational information as well as the officer's rank. At this point in the conflict, rank meant much less than it did before the bombs fell, but he reckoned that in a place like this where there seemed to be a semblance of government and command structure remaining that a salute wouldn't be unwelcome.

"Captain Marshal Matthias." he stated while offering a quick but snappy salute. He stood with a formal rigidity afforded by years of officer training, waiting to be addressed. He was interested in who would take over take over the proceedings, the officer or the civilian.

Lilya didn't try to manage the civility of  Dr. Matthhias salute.
She smashed her boot down with a loud thump, and gave a full fog horn level salute.

 With everyone saluting the two men act. While the heavyset officer only makes a sketchy motion towards his forehead and somehow manages to intensify his glower, the civilian gives a quick smile to the group before introducing himself and the officer. It turns out that both are incharge of the village and the surrounding area and have been appointed by the central government of Poland, with Major Aleksander Marszałek being head of military operations and he, Janusz Pokorny, being incharge of civilian operations.

 He then inquires as to why this meeting was requested and, of lesser priority, why one of their soviet allies are with you.
