Oceanus freezes and slowly turns towards the movement. If they had griffons and satyrs, who was to say that they didn't have something that could wait out the cages?

She nods and picks up her clothes and proceeds to use the washing machine for it's intended purpose.

Oceanus traced the origin of the disturbance to a birds cage, hidden under a length of grey linen. Ashes had piled up knee-deep under its brass-foot, betraying the inhabitant even before Oceanus uncovered the tragic creature. It's red and yellow feathers had turned to a dull grey by it's own dust, they still held a faint glow, reminiscient of watching your own fingers in front of a lightsource in the darkness. It's long, slender neck resembled a crane, while it's head-feathers and long, elaborate tail could put any peacock to shame and isolation, unable to ever dare flaunt their petty, nubile and outright insulting attempts at beauty ever again.

Held by golden bars, this pheonix had been forced to starvation again, and again, through the years...forever. Its eyes had lost their keen shine long ago, staring dull into nothingess. What happens to a soul, no matter how animalistic and primitive, when subjected to this century-long neglect and incarceration? An eternity of waiting, your own death pulsing the unrelenting rythm of passing time.

Oceanus quickly checks the lock on the cage, and provided it was not an actual lock, he would open the cage. Otherwise he would look around for a key repoistory of some kind.

Oceanus finds the cages door is held in place by a rather simple mechanism, and already his hand is moving to open it, when another hand slammed the door shut again, nearly stopping Oceanus heart by suprise alone.

""Are you NUTS?!" We are in some sort of ancient magical laboratory, or cult-centre or who knows what, and the first thing you do is "uncage the magical beast that has not eaten anything for over 200 years"?!"

"Well, what do you suggest? And besides, I know how to hold a bird without getting pecked to death long enough to take it somewhere with plenty of food for it."

"Sources....vary regarding what a pheonix actually eats. Some say meat, some fruit, some not at all..others say it sustains itself of the ashes of burnt life. I for one, do not really think finding out is a priority. Look...I know this is super sad, and I don't like it either, but...It has been suffering for centuries, a day or two more won't make a difference."

"Um.... Guys.... Can you be more quiet? This place creeps me out..." Felicia, who had been trying to catch up to Morgana and Oceanus, finally decided to speak up, her very shy nature making her out to be a mouse in a giant's house. Her very presence had been so small, her sudden appearance was a shock.

"Gah!"

Morgana jumps, then slaps Felicia in the face. Afterwards she hesitates for a moment, then looks at the ring on her hand...

"Hmm...not a doppelga- wait, what the hell, where did you come from?!"
