((Just putting something here for flavour, I suppose, since I was away on Autopilot for 2-3 days. 'pologies again.))

The sweet embrace of friendship was warm, despite the cold. It all seemed so well - everyone could be friends after all! Laykos was wrong! Not everyone underground is out there to kill them! And if all goes well, they can go... outside...?

Something wasn't right. The warmth gradually turned to cold air as the crystals encapsulated around them and stuck them in place. Before Sophia could mouth her curse for being so trusting, and a partial recovery to traumatic stress, the ice had surrounded them perfectly.

They had become cold, solid, masterpieces of gullibility.

This would have finally snapped Sophia out of her fear-infused trance and put her back to sanity. All she wanted was to see her family again. All that's been in her mind was her family, despite everything she said. And fear. And all of this was shattered - and promptly sealed by the cold embrace of ice.

[SOLDIER First]

"that's probably because you got stabbed."

"True also. I guess I'll... put them in the cage I made in the shed."
Gell dragged the block of ice across the caves slowly, until they reached Cavefall. He grunted as he pulled them to the door of a shed next to a home, opening it with a key as he pulled them inside a caged wall around the size of half the shed. There was hay on the ground to presumably act as bedding, and there were two large bowls one of which filled with water but the other empty.
"They'll thaw out in an hour or so.. I guess I'll go get things ready."

Gell left, leaving the block of ice atop the pile of warm hay.
-ONE HOUR LATER-
Their eyes open up as they suddenly awaken on top of a pile of damp hay, caged in a large room.

Alvin awoke with a start, looking around confusedly.  The last thing he remembered was hugging Gell.  What happened?

"Hello?  Gell, Hedron?" he called out.

Lazarus stands in stunned silence. He slowly turns about in the cage, seemingly entirely calm about this. Eventually, he goes to inspect the bars for weakness.

The bars are typical iron, close enough together to keep children out.

Alvin got no response.

Footsteps are heard outside as the door open, Gell walking in carrying a brown bag as he slides the key in the lock. Sliding in through the small crack he makes opening the door, he walks over to the food bowl.
"Uhm.. hi. I got you guys some food," he said as he poured the bag of dog food into the bowl.
"I don't really know what you humans like, but I heard that dogs were man's best friend, so it'd be logical for their best friends to also like dog food, right?"

Alvin hesitates for a moment before making a beeline for the partially opened door.

Lazarus's eye twitches before he faces downwards and covers his face with his hand. He looks back up with a calm smile.

A wall of ice raises upwards, blocking the exit.
"H-Hey! Chill out!"
(oh my god i just made a pun on accident)

Gell turned to Lazarus, and appeared to be sweating.
"W-Well, I know a thing or two about humans... I h-have to, since I'm a sentry..."
