How do we deal with the wererats?

Scare them into the deeper parts and cave in parts of the cavern, sealing them in
Take out their leaders and try to convince them to surrender

Moot point, Ritki! Moot point Martijn says with a laugh as they start walking back towards the settlement.

((I'm considering adding an element of terrible-joke telling :P))

"That was so bad I would charge for damages back in city," the ratman grumbled.

"Fare thy well, Red-Moon clan and may Tyr's light be ever at your side. If you need our aid regarding something we would hear it."

With the tired look created from a long and productive day, Arioch finds in himself to give one last quick nip at Martijn with a smile.

"Cave dwellers are we now? Yes, let's return home. I suspect the next few days will be long."

((It's likely that the more recruitable NPC party members we gather, the more we'll keep splitting into two. At this rate eventually everybody might even have their own mini-party.))

((Gotta let the others get caught up. You're still several hours ahead. Once they're good with the boats, landing and such, we'll line it up))

((I don't know, it could also be handled that the more NPCs, the more tasks we can set them to for the city that we know will be handled well. So if we take Kylie somewhere, we can set Varg to handle hunting duties and Ewen to do city management, while the party as a whole goes to deal with a cave system or such.))

((This would probably be the funner way to do it. No player wants to be left behind chopping firewood while the rest of the PCs battle a goblin king for magical treasure.))

Arioch stops during the walk and looks at Ritiki in bewilderment.

"Why are you talking about dam ages, Ritiki? I don't think there's any dams in the city."

Finally his mask of bewilderment cracks and Arioch starts laughing as well, going in for a high five with Martijn.

((That's one way of doing it. More party dynamics too since we'll be face to face to each other.))

Martijn groans in an amused fashion before meeting the high five.

Ritiki groaned dramatically.

"Surrounded by cod-dam fools I am."

((Oh dear, let you three keep going and we'll have a party of comedians. Don't expect James to follow along except to make snarky comments in Draconic at you three. :P))

((In fact, I plan to learn languages as often as reasonably possible. Bards get tons of skill points (I get 9 per level) and we'll surely need things translated from time to time. Plus hilarity is always good :P ))

((In hoping to have non-RP encounters happening soon, so hopefully things can speed up and take off from there.

And the purpose of having the NPC party members is more or less what Hanzoku and Sirus were talking about. There will be times you will need to leave people behind or send them to do errands like send messages, guard the populace, etc. And without the help of several NPCs to aid you, you're gonna have a hard time keeping things in check. Luckily, so far, you have Ewan the Monk, Kylie the Hunter (I'll call her huntress despite the class name) and Varg the Fighter. I should mention I have played NONE of these classes in my pathfinder games and I may be clueless as to what they can do as time goes on. I can attest that there will be several allies you can take along with you, but I encourage you guys to stick together, not only to make it easier on me to give you guys rewards and XP, but to also make the party seem more like a group, rather than severa individuals who are just trying to survive. After all, teamwork is going to be a big thing here.

Also, XP is going by the normal rate, if I didn't already say that...))

((Waiting for USEC_OFFICER's reaction, but for the record, James cast Cure Light Wiunds on the three physically strongest looking of the seriously wounded. If it gets some of them upright, they can help with the oars.))
