Bio: Born as the daughter to a Blacksmith making his living in Tessamor and a slightly insane alchemist, Lars simultaneously experienced two different upbringings. Being a stubborn man, while her father conceded to allowing his daughter to be named after what is apparently a "name of power", he did not approve of his wife raising Lars wholly as her apprentice. Thus, Lars learned blacksmithing from her father, while her mother attempted to teach her alchemy. The plan was that she was to later choose her profession when she grew up.

However, unbeknownst to them was that Lars had adopted an alternative stance to morality. Seeing the inequality in the merchant city, she had associated herself with thieves, and had taken to stealing from the houses of rich merchants that her father sent her to make deliveries to. She then gave what she had stolen to the poor, with some as bribes to keep herself out of trouble. Her precautions were not enough, however, as her father soon grew suspicious of her and the string of robberies that followed in her wake. Shadowing her, he learned of her illegal operation and was furious.

Though Lars' father loved her, he was disappointed in her actions and had decided to expose her to the authorities, as he did not believe in her motivations. Her mother intervened and exploited the fact that her husband was a pious man by offering an alternative: send Lars to an Arvadian monastery in a nearby village, where she will work to aid the sick and the poor in the name of the Skyfather. Though Lars, like her mother, did not believe in the Gods, she complied when her father agreed with this plan, as it was better than rotting in the city jail.

Although she was working for charities, Lars loathed life in the monastery. It was dull and limited, not to mention that Lars did not believe she was appeasing the Skyfather which may or may not exist. She always volunteered to venture out to Tessamor, just for the sake of exploring the roads and leaving the stuffy monastery for a little while, but soon the roads and the city themselves became constricting. She was told that those who prove their skill and zeal could be sent as missionaries who follow companies, providing religion to the men and women of war. While Lars wasn't exactly thrilled with the prospect of running around in the battlefield, her parents wrote to her that they would allow it, and so with nearly unrivaled zeal Lars spent a few years in intense study of theology and light magic. She was selected for a mission far earlier than her peers. She was free at last.

Bio: 
         May was born into a church that trained healers and holy guards. She had a happy childhood learning all their is to know about light magic. Years later she became a sister of the church and even married a knight. Sadly all good things come to an end and that end was a murderous dark mage. The mage wiped out the most of the church except May and a few children, luckily for the May the mage was ransacking the armory so she took the children and escaped to a nearby town. May is often seen wondering the grave stones of her fallen sisters and husband. she joined a mercenary group as their healer

Bio (WIP?): Despite the lack of records and historical accuracy, the Astraeus family firmly believe their origins. They're an old, proud family in the Arvadian Empire, boasting their supposed roots to even before Garmal had tamed the first Wyvern. However, due to the constant combat and warfare before Gash III had arisen to power, the Astraeus family is a mere shadow of what it once was, owning only a fraction of it's original wealth.

Sen is eighteen, and is among one of four directly descended siblings. Two sisters, both his junior, and an elder, crippled brother, who normally would be the heir of the family, if not for the injury that severely hampered him. Sen's father, the family's patriarch is by no means an elderly man, but even he must choose a heir, for one never knows what chaos would befall this war-torn country, especially after the Emperor finally fades.

Despite both eventual and current responsibilities, Sen spends his time with liberal amounts of fine wine, high-stakes games of chance, and whichever fair face he sees fit to accompany him for the night. And like many other young noblemen, he is often demanding, proud, and has little patience, though he is perfectly amicable and charismatic when in a good mood.

Even with the shortcomings of his often abrasive personality, he has a small gift for archery - a talent more often than not shown off at competitions or hunts, rather than practiced and perfected. Much like his marksmanship, he also has the innate spark of magic, although he's far away from being able to truly use it for any task, and grows much too frustrated with learning to make any real headway.

Though even with his dangerously carefree attitude, Sen has a surprising fondness for history and politics, often tackling an old book or report with as much fondness as he does his wine. He can name and describe nearly any period in Arvadian history, as well as the significant figures that spurred each age, and the family trees of many noble lineages are etched into his mind. While he might not be adept at recognizing them in person, he's usually more than well versed on the status of the Empire and it's noble houses.

And so, with the young Prince Titon being called to the capital, Sen had personally offered his services in retainer, partly for his desire to know the outcome, and partly because Sen and the young Prince might have drank at the establishment a few times before the latter wised up, and Sen is all too eager to see if fun old habits can once more be brought to the surface along the way.

To most Kozantikhoni missionaries, the Pahravanit Empire has a rightfully-acquired reputation as utter suicide -- they are hostile to Arvadan, to Kozantikhon, and to everything Kozantikhon stands for, as well as eagerly hunting down anyone who dare not believe in their god-king religion. No sane missionary would attempt to spread the faith in Pahravanit, considering the abundance of convertable Arvadans and the danger. One priest by the name of Asal Balar, however, was not a sane missionary at all; the man had such an utter contempt for any sort of obstacle, caution, or danger that he made it a quest to put one over on those king-worshipping heathens, no matter how big and scary they tried to puff themselves up to be. So he crossed the Bloodpeaks, alone, and ended up in rural Pahravanit, where he came across a tiny little hamlet. Evidently satisfied with this find, he settled down there and got to work on converting the local populace.

Were it anywhere else in the empire, not only would Balar have likely not succeeded, he would have probably have found himself a little on the dead side. But because the hamlet was so small and so far away from the dealings of the godkings, even the Skyfather seemed a closer and more personal god, especially with the firebrand missionary extolling his virtues and his prayers. Over the years, the hamlet became a little middle-of-nowhere refuge of the Skyfather in Pahravanit. Balar formed an especially strong bond with one of the growing children, Ratan Korrapati, as he instilled in the boy an incredibly fervent zeal for the Kozantikhoni religion. He even taught the boy his signature methods of laughing off magic (in the name of the Skyfather)! And considering Ratan was already learning traditional dark magic from his literal father, this resulted in a very magically-educated boy.

It had been a couple of months since Ratan had turned 17 (only around five months ago) when disaster struck. A passing group of raiders, looking to ruin some Arvadan day, spotted the hamlet's crosses and various heretic paraphernalia.

In the ensuing fire, the people were scattered, including Balar and Ratan, whose anti-magic training greatly aided their chance of escaping unharmed, and the two of them made clear for the Bloodpeaks the way Balar had come in. But while Balar remembered the way back, Ratan didn't and had to follow his mentor carefully... and considering Balar isn't the kind of person to stop and wait, Ratan rapidly got separated. It was almost by miracle that he managed to stumble his way into the borders of Arvadan and survive, but now alone his chances didn't look very good.

(If Prologue:) Ratan had something of a lucky break: after a couple of weeks of barely surviving and wandering, he was discovered by a visiting Kozantikhoni High Priest... of course, if he hadn't shortly proved himself to be an oddly devout worshipper of the Skyfather, he wouldn't have survived. But he DID prove himself to be devout, and the High Priest's curiosity was stoked. He was brought back to Kozantikhon, and his sheer piety as well as his exotic nature saw him as something of a curiosity among the Holy King's conclave. Eventually his confused fame got to the point where the Holy King sent him over to the Arvadan court because having a fervently Skyfather-worshipping Pahranavitite around by the royals of an anti-Pahravanit country would be A. according to the High Priest who found him, "absolutely damned hilarious" and B. more importantly, would make Kozantikhon look very good, humiliate the Pahravanit by having someone so publicly denounce their god-king system, and would make Arvadan look quite good themselves in the process. That's how he ended up by Titon's side, and why the still somewhat-baffled Ratan is now a retainer.

(If Chapter 1:) Even Ratan isn't entirely sure how he's managed to stay alive in the wilds of the Arvadan Empire for so long, whether it be dumb luck, aid from the Skyfather (as Ratan would like to believe), or simply survival skills sharpened by necessity. Nonetheless, the Skyfather-worshipping Pahravanitite is still attempting to keep alive as he wanders through a forest now, tattered, scared out of his mind, of exactly the wrong skin color in Arvada, and clutching his cross protectively.

Bio TL;DR: Crazy and ballsy Kozantikhoni missionary makes his way over the Bloodpeaks, converts an out-of-the-way hamlet to the Skyfather's faith, becomes a mentor to Ratan (my character), who learns RES techniques from the missionary and shaman-y techniques from his own father. Then Pahravanit raiders heading out to ruin some Arvadans notice the Skyfather stuff, and missionary and Ratan run like hell back over the Bloodpeaks, where they are separated and Ratan barely makes it back alive. If Prologue, he is discovered by a visiting Kozantikhoni High Priest, who takes him in from curiosity and the boy's piety, becomes a spectacle for the Kozantikhoni, sent over to the court because having a Pahravanitite so brazenly and publicly denouncing their god-kings and everything makes the Pahravanit look really really bad, and makes the Kozantikhoni look really good. If Chapter 1, he has been wandering and wandering in the Arvadan wilderness forever and is barely alive... but in the end IS alive.

Bio TL;DR TL;DR: Pahravanitite shaman (kind of), but extremely heretical-to-Pahravanit and pious Skyfather-worshipper who escaped getting wrecked over the bloodpeaks but ended up alone in the process. Either sent to the court to make the Pahravanit Empire look hilariously bad or is still wandering.

Build-wise, he's basically meant to be the RES equivalent of Alex, eventually using summons to further tank hits and fight mages.
