The more features you add, the larger the chance of failure.

So you can try to add as many features as you want, but it's at your own risk.

We better look at how those HEATs will fare first.

Production

China Production Line 1 : J31 [5] > 3 points of J31 - distribute between Protection forces, 2 points go to global airforce

China Production Line 3 : Type 095 Submarine [1/1]
East Asian Production Line 1 : HQ-9\DX-1 [2] > To East Asian protection force
South East Asia Production Line 1 :HQ-9\DX-1 [2] > To Oceanian protection force

Forces

Chinese Protection Force (Umar)
[7/20] J-31
[12/20] HQ-9
    -[2] HX-1

East Asian Protection force (Zhou)
[7/20] J-31
[10/20] HQ-9
    -[2] HX-1

Oceanian Protection Force (Mao)
[7/20] J-31
[8/20] HQ-9
    -[2] HX-1

Reaction Air Force  (Lin) -
[14/20] J-31

Naval detachment (Deng) -
Type 095 "001" Nuclear Submarine

Mass Production

Internal unrest forces the reallocation of production capacity to consumer goods. You do not get a production credit this turn.

I was merely copying UR's name. Fixing now.

1. the HQ-9 is utterly useless in this situation. Good we got the better anti-"tank class" missile.
2. their Wasp Class is of concern but as long as we keep our fighters grounded it won't be much of a problem.
3. We really should try to fight them on foot. At least we need some reliable method to ground their dropships so we can hopefully get some intact specimen before they chicken out every single time.

We really should spread to defend more zones... And our airforce looks fucked.

I am not a fan of the tank design without proper anti-laser armor knowledge. Looks like a perfect target for their drones.  Instead I prefer mobility.

I prefer to keep the airforce grounded and collect more samples. We are obviously in a blind fighting blind situation.

as for your IFV:

- I'm not sure low caliber AP rounds have enough pen given they are essentially walking tankettes with a laser.
- Anti-tank missile could be fine but isn't that prime target for lasers?
- Looks horribly one-shottable.

We need to improve our standings with other nations and fight even if this mean losing our jets.
I am rather sad that neigher our airforce nor our submarine engaged targets. I think we need to give them more defined areas of operation.

Not that we have 100% control over our generals

Our airforce did engage targets, they are just not effective.

Anyway the problem is effective anti-laser armor. And water tanks won't be too bad (bonus if the water is filled with soot).

It might be worth trying to invent smoke grenades that go off in anti-laser smoke sometime. It'd be nice to make their primary weapon unusable, or at least less effective.

It also might be time to look into gun based anti air once again, at least for base defense duties. Bullets should be a lot cheaper then high tech missiles and heat shield or no, I can't imagine the drop pods the aliens use being very happy to be hosed down by an anti-armor autocannon or four.

for the anti laser armor we need something that can either disperse heat near immediately or something that generates a massive kick up or dust or creates a lot of smoke to make their lasers useless.

Another way to get around the whole 'heat shields are shields' issue is to get some anti ground sats up, though we'd probably need a way to defend them against alien attack in orbit too. Maybe a missile sat that could shoot stuff both in orbit and descending from orbit? That's more a long term thing though, for now we need to be less defenseless when their attacks do land.

Tankettes are perfectly killable with a high calibre machinegun.

What do you mean?

It is. As any other ground unit we can field. We can't provide good enough shields to counter their weapons

Anyway it wasn't a vote.

_____________

Anti-aircraft guns. We can do a better version of this - http://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/row/type-80-aaa.htm

How about this.
Spoiler: Self-propelled AA gun (click to show/hide)

It is created for boosting our air-defence further, but has some use in ground warfare.

I'm basically NOT convinced of our ability to pen them with Sabots. HEAT on the other hand works.
