'Mörkö' actually has a double meaning. First off, it's Finnish for 'boogeyman' (inexact translation), i.e. a vaguely-defined scary, evil monster in the darkness that preys on children and brings nightmares, but is never actually (lived to be) seen. Compare: 'mörökölli', one of the Finnish words for grumpy, ugly, old people who don't like children.

Mörkö is also the name of a Moomin character, known as The Groke in English. Tove Jansson, the author, is fond of symbolism: the Groke is a tragic, lonely being that wanders around, looking for friends, but can't find any because her touch is freezingly cold and she leaves a trail of ice as she goes. Not at all evil, she just needs a hug, but can't have one.

I took inspiration from both meanings, as well as Monster In The Darkness from the webcomic Order of the Stick to create a misunderstood monster, trying my best not to rip too much off and have some material of my own.

Mörkö, by personality, would be quite a benign god, were it not for its spheres. It deems its actions a necessary evil, and will probably come to regret a lot. No, I won't roleplay any Wangst, don't worry.

They're 2 feet tall humanoids with grey flesh, black blood, and white bones. They have both endo- and exo-skeleton, they lack exoskeleton at the joints, face, pelvis, chest (female), stomach, soles, underside of tail, the insides of their hands, and the top of their heads (the part where humans normally have hair).
They have a 4 inch tail, and their fingers and toes end in dull claws. They have hair coming out of the top of their heads, which is white, they also have eyebrows.
They have red eyes and they're omnivores.
