You break out into the clearing, towards the set of makeshift huts in the center. You notice a guard locking onto you with a rifle of some kind, and stop and you raise your arms, indicating that you have no weapon. You want to run into the cover in the village, because you know the slavers are still on your tail. He calls out, and another guard comes up next to him.

"Come here, slowly!" the guard yells.

Options:
Slowly advance
Run, with your hands up
Turn and run back into the woods
Stay put
Yell out that there are slavers coming

You make sure to keep your hands in the air and yell, "Slavers are coming!" as loud as you can.

The guards talk to each other for a moment, and then call back, "We said come slowly with your hands up! One of the guards calls out for more men on their side, and two more guards come, one on each side of a hut on the edge of the village.

Options:
Walk slowly, hands up
Run to village, hands up
Hit the dirt to try to take cover for the inevitable firefight
Run back into the woods

You walk slowly with your hands up for a few steps, and you hear shouting from behind you. Bullets fly past your head, and you break into a run with your arms still in the air. "I'm friendly, I'm friendly!" you yell, finally making your way to the guards, who are now dug into cover behind the huts. The few citizens of this little settlement are running about, trying to get into their own homes.

"What, are they chasing you?" one of them asks.

Options:
Tell him the truth, that they are chasing you
Tell him that they were originally on their way to attack and you just saw them on their way
Attack guards
Run through town and into the forest

"Yeah, they're after me." you say.

"Why don't we just give him back to them?" one guard yells over the gunfire.

"You wanna negotiate that shit, go ahead! If not, he's just another able body to use!" the other yells back. By the sheer amount of gunfire coming in you'd guess that there's at least ten heavily armed slavers in the treeline. The four guards are firing back, but they're blindfiring so you can guess about how effective they're being.

Options:
Ask for a rifle to defend the village
Try to orchestrate the civilians
Sneak away from the fight on the opposite end of town
Hide in a hut

You ask for the men to give you a rifle to help defend the village. They look at each other and one yells over the gunfire, "The more men we've got the better, right?"

The other yells back, "We haven't got any more rifles! Here, take my pistol!" He reaches into the back of his pants and grabs a 9mm pistol, and throws it to you. Bullets continue to pound the huts, many going through and one hitting a woman who'd been running in the back, sending her to the ground.

Help fallen lady
Retreat further into the village to lay ambush
