After Zharvakko's sudden departure Theor returned to training with the dummy, occasionally glancing aside to watch the exchange between the pegasus rider and the earthbound cavalier.

"It just seemed like something was bothering you, that's all. I'll let you think."

She pushed out her chair and stood, then moved out to the hallway and looked out the window. Outside in the training yards, she could see the horse riders training and the other swordsman attacking a dummy.

Inido would know why, of course. Bandits usually liked to make their bases in terrain that would prevent cavalry charges and thus make fighting from a defending position easier.

Theor stopped hitting the dummy with heavy swings and working on his footwork to answer Samantha, resting his wooden sword's tip on the ground.

"I'd try to leap back and away."

"To be clearer: obvious, exaggerated attacks are easier to be sidestepped and countered, but in that case I'd most likely prefer risk losing the counter-strike just so I'm not hit by the tip of the spear, any barbs around it, or even the handle."
