Ashlyssa hadn't finished her plate yet, so she stayed behind to do so.

Once the training area was found, Hildebrand recovered his horse, a dark gray charger, and mounted up to practice his lancework. Sighting a target dummy, he couched the lance, charged his victim...and missed the dummy's torso by a handsbreadth.

The cavalier cursed to himself. Perhaps I should try an easier target. Like a castle wall, for instance.

[Caellath]

Theor was found repeatedly swinging his wooden sword and performing basic strikes against a simple dummy, following the most venerable "practice makes perfect" tradition. He did, however, notice Zharvakko's presence watching him and waited a little to see whether the man would say anything.

"Hello." He finally spoke up, breaking the near-silence in the training grounds that so far had only been interrupted by Hildebrand nearby and the sound of rushing air caused by the swordsman's own swings.

[GiglameshDespair]

Sam grabbed a few more of those dainty little pastry thigns to go before she slipped away to get her own mount.

It wasn't long before Sam clopped up behind Hildebrand on her own mount, lance in hand. The pegasus was a dark grey rather than the normal white of a pegasus, and it snorted as it came to a stop.

"Yer weight's wrong."
She said, and fell silent.

[Sirus]

Deciding to leave the amazingly evasive dummy alone for a moment, Hildebrand turned to the wild-looking pegasus rider and quirked an eyebrow.

: "Excuse me?"

"Hello."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Yer weight's wrong."
She said again.
"When you were about to hit, you leaned back. Yer weight shifted, and yer brought yer lance in to compensate. You didn't do it much, but it were enough."

[Sirus]

The cavalier blinked, then cursed again, louder this time. Back when he was a squire, it had taken him months to train himself to balance perfectly. Now his body appeared to have gotten back into its old bad habits again, and he didn't have months to dedicate to endless practice. He had maybe a day. Why had he thought this would be a good idea, again?

: "...You're right. If my old instructors had seen that they would have used me as the training dummy for a while! Here, show me how it's done again."

[Caellath]

"Hello."

"I'm Theor Domaine, how about you? I'm afraid I didn't catch your name."

[PrivateNomad]

"You may call me Zharvakko."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Alright, Skullcrusher, hup!"

The pegasus did a short turn to gain a bit more room and charged, the rider hunched forward with spear braced. It took off with a leap, soaring into the air.
"I'll splatter your guts!"

As the pegasus dropped again to the floor the spear sank deep into the target's body. Sam jolted with the impact, using the backwards motion to rip the lance free even as the pegasus took off again. It circled the target before landing back in front of Hildebrand.

"How was that?"

[Caellath]

"Ah, Zharvakko. Do you hail from the fellwild's outskirts?" He sure looked the part - what with the clothes and necklace -, but it was only safe to ask rather than assume.

[Sirus]

Hildebrand had watched Sam's attack intently, and considered his answer before responding.

: "Impressive. Obviously not something I could duplicate...but while the strike was just about perfect, I did notice your guard drop a bit, not an uncommon thing among pegasus riders. A clever opponent could have easily stuck a weapon into Skullcrusher's belly when you reared up before the strike."

"Ah, Zharvakko. Do you hail from the fellwild's outskirts?" He sure looked the part - what with the clothes and necklace -, but it was only safe to ask rather than assume.

"Yes. I heal the sick."

[Caellath]

"So a healer. Magical or mundane?"
