History of what happened since.

"Well, in the hundred years you've been gone, a lot has changed. My grandfather liked to talk about it, or rant about it, or otherwise complain. The use of magic was banned almost immediately after your, um, leaving. They had witchhunts for years and years. My great-great grandmother was burned because she tried to raise her husband from the dead."

She did not succeed, I take it.

"Well, no. But she was one of the last victims in the witch hunts. The Royal Family thought they were wiped out for good. The witches and warlocks, I mean. They still keep a few around, those really loyal to the throne, and some people do magic undercover."

A brief image of a scrawny boy in a robe, parchment in one hand and a quill in another. "Who was-"

My apprentice.... He must be quite old now, and he hasn't been found and killed.

"Anyways, the Royal Family-"

Which one, girl? There are five kingdoms.

"N-Not anymore, master. The Ironheart King took advantage of the state your war left the land in. He conquered the other four kingdoms and his family have reigned as emperors ever since."

Who rules now?

"Empress Fe Ironheart. My mother always said that she was the biggest magic user left in the world, but no one ever stops her, because she's, you know, Empress."

Anything else?

"Well, that Paladin-Order-thing that, um, uh, beat you." You try your hardest not to bring up your master's defeat. It gives you a nasty headache. "They're officially endorsed by the Royal Family now. They've got cathedrals and monasteries everywhere, and paladins and clerics replaced the Imperial Army forty years ago."

Your servants, terrors, subjects, etc. Where have they went?

"Oh! My mother always told me about the brave people who followed you, master. They were my favorite bedtime stories! After you were, uh, um, setback, your army of unliving were slowly beaten by the remaining paladins. Your magic friends were hunted down during the witchhunts, like my ancestor-"

What is your full name, child?

"Oh. Uh, Angel Domina Grimm, master."

The Dominas and the Grimms linked lineages? Good.

You give a shy smile. "Well, anyway, I heard your greatest general led guerrilla warfare against the Iron Empire for twenty years! My great-great grandfather was part of the army. He died, so his wife tried to bring him back, but.... Anyway, he was killed by one of the original paladins. They buried him in that sandy place."

Brutalos. That is where we are headed; to raise my general, Bokor Blackboulder.

"Oh!" You give a little clap. "I can't wait to meet him! My mother always said he was dashing and handsome and brave." Your mind flashes with an image of a giant man, holding two halves of a human body in each hand.

"What was that? Um, never mind. Apparently, according to this cave, you've still got supporters. My family always supported you, until they were murdered one night. No one cared though...." you recall angrily. "Said that those 'weirdos' did Redridge a favor when they died.... I got them back."

"So, I don't know your supporters, master, except for the ones who gave us this cave, and me of course!"

Swirling in the shallows of Red's mind, you examine your capabilities and powers in your current form. You can always leave her mind and completely possess something else, though it would be ill-advised. You are not possessing Red, merely sharing her body, which is much less taxing on your mind and spirit. Possessing a body completely for long periods of time is disconcerting to the soul.

You are not completely helpless, however. Aside from your natural intelligence, your powers can still manifest through Red's body, though if you wanted her to stay alive, you probably would have to tone down the intensity of your magic, lest you rip her soul apart. Spells that aren't directly manifested through the body, such as alchemy, brewing or enchanting are also possible.

You can see, hear, smell and feel everything she does; you also feel her strongest emotions, if it's sufficiently powerful. You can read shallow thoughts, but you can't pierce into her deeper memories or true feelings. You can exert full control when you want. You can partially control her too, such as hand movements, talking through her and so on.

You find your analysis sufficient, and turn your thoughts to a hundred years ago, when you first met Delara Domina and Greyback Grimm. The two were young, impressionable and eager for power. Both came from different backgrounds, as different as could be; Grimm came from the mountain kingdoms, dwarfblood clear in his pale, cave-adapted face and beard. Domina came from a lesser family of the much older Paladus Sect, the precursor to the Paladin Order.

Both wanting more than the lot given to them, they flocked to you, as did others, when news gripped the land that Kaviik Nalrathai killed the head of the Paladus Order, Greatfather Pury. Instead of fearing you and your undead army, they sought you openly. Taking them under your wing, they became a proto-cabal to which your future Siidu Cabal. (Siidu sounding much like see-do, which is where they came with the eye in the hand insignia.)

Delara Domina and Greyback Grimm were rivals, each vying for your attention and praise. You'd never think that the two would come together, or their children. Now you can see the resemblance in Red; her stawberry-blonde hair clearly from Domina, and the pale face of Grimm. Now that you think about it, her ancestry might explain her psychopathic tendencies. The Grimms and the Dominas, even in your time, were old families. They practiced the ancient tradition of inbreeding, to keep the blood pure. Angel Domina Grimm must be the product of that, seeing as she's kept both names intact after a hundred years.

The light dances lazily on your face, bidding you to open your eyes and yawn. It seems you've fallen asleep... It still looks early, however.

"Good morning, master!" you chirp. He doesn't reply. Maybe he's thinking. "Um, we've still got time. Anything you'd like to ask before we leave to, um, that sandy place?"

Can we pry the minds of those we share a body with? Do we know adequate enchanting ability so as to enhance a weapon so long as we inhabit it? Is said spell even possible?

If so, get red to get a weapon she prefers using and enhance its properties.

If not, proceed to Brutalos. We need to empower ourselves on the way. Perhaps, stealthily.

Damn it, I keep mistaking this for FEF due to that subtitle.

How do we empower ourselves and get another body for ourselves?

Ohhhh! That's why.... Changed the subtitle!

Sharing a body allows you access to shallow memories, loud thoughts, and strong emotions, but not true desires and old, forgotten memories. Not immediately, that is. With time, patience and skill, one can fully pry into another's psyche. Doing so is disorienting, to say the least, to feel and think exactly as another person does. However, it can be done if you wish to do so.

Enhancing and residing in a weapon is also a good idea. Demons are known to do so, freely or forced. With your power, you can inhabit a weapon as long as its owner allows you to.

Red, show me your weapon.

"Sure!" she says, pulling out a rusty kitchen knife. "Madam Canter always put me to work in the kitchens. When the other girls destroyed my doll, I grew attached to this instead."

Give it to me.

You can tell the shock and apprehension she's feeling. "But, you can't actually hold it, master. You, um, don't have a body."

Give it to me.

"O-Okay...." Not sure where to put it, she places it lovingly on the ground.

She gasps loudly as you exit her and enter the dagger. The dagger disappears in a puff of smoke. "Master?" The dagger materializes in her hand once more. Shocked, she drops it. Before you hit the ground, you disappear in an inky cloud again. Once more, you materialize in her hand.

The knife will have to do for now. You are linked to the knife's owner, Red, and as such will always be at her side. She can never lose you, and you can never be destroyed unless she wants to, and you greatly doubt she would. She cherishes both you and the dagger too much. When she has no need of a weapon, you will stay in a demiplane of existence, until you are summoned once more.

You ponder your choices for getting a new body. Possessing a body is always an option. The easiest way, but your powers will be greatly hampered by being in a foreign body. The next way is to get your true body back, but they've probably destroyed it. The final way is to grow a new one. It is a long, arduous alchemical process; you'll have to accrue a long list of ingredients. Some hard to get, such as maiden's blood, the soul of one who was never born, and a demon's heart. You'll also need a forge powerful enough to create your body, like a volcano or a fallen star.

With that in mind, do you want to continue your journey to Brutalos or stay in the cave a while longer?

Onwards to Brutalos. There is no point on reminiscing on the past when nothing can be done at the present while doing so.

Red should perhaps fulfill the blood requirement of the body, hopefully. How much are we talking about?

Volcanoes tend to stay in one place so finding a forge shouldn't be difficult. What will be difficult is getting a demon heart.

Make our way to Brutalos. While on our journey, think on how to summon, capture, kill, and dissect demons without their permission.

((Not sure exactly what the rules are for necroing, but if this is an offence then I'm sorry! I came back and re-read this from a reader's perspective, and I really want to continue it. :p If I have to start a new thread then I gladly will.))

Onwards to Brutalos....

Red has a giggling fit, and after a period of hyperactivity she falls asleep by the fire. You, on the other hand, are in your demiplane, awaiting to be summoned. And there your presence stirs and writhes, stuck between life and death, tethered to a blade that has caused pain and misery of such magnitude that you share in its nightmares.

Your own nightmares have not left you either. They shamble toward you, dressed in mockery of those you cared for, their faces contorted in a crude attempt at mimicking life. But despite their maddened moans, their baleful, milky eyes, and rotten faces, they have never in your nightmares harmed you.

No, those days in your first life, your hundred-year trial in hell, and even now, they never harmed you. You made them your slaves. The entire night you stare at them, and they stare back, and they remind you how you couldn't let go.

How you kept them with you forever. How you keep them with you forever. You drift to the soul of a woman with her face shrouded with long, black hair.

And throughout the night, you shared the nightmare together.

Red: It is nearly midday, and your legs are beginning to ache, and your stomach has been empty for a few days. From what you remember, the nearest town had to have been a day away from the cave.... Your stomach grumbles.

Your feeble attempt to satiate yourself with a few berries fails miserably. The taste only makes you hunger more. During the walk, your saviour has been silent. You wonder what he ever thinks about.

You tried to distract yourself from the stabbing pain of hunger by repeatedly summoning and vanishing your blade, up until Saviour gave you a massive headache and refused to be called again. And from then on, you hiked and hungered in boredom.

By dusk, you reach a two-story cabin in the forest, not a ways away from where the next town should be. From the plumes of smoke and the jolly laughter within, you recognise it as a tavern. You run, tummy rumbling, and knock on the door.

A man in definite need of a bath opens the door. He stares at you petulantly. "No kids, get lost." The door is promptly shut in your face.

You feel a tingling, and you feel like flying but you're legs are on the ground. Are you taller? Try again.

Hesitantly, you open the door. The man from before tips his patched hat. "Good evenin', milady, what can I get ya? Ya didn't happen to see some runt in a red cloak run by, did ya?"

"Who're you calling-" you say, before realising your voice isn't your own. "No, I didn't. I'll have some of your roasted duck, please."

Strange, you didn't plan on saying that.... Eat quickly, I cannot keep your facade on for long.

You sit in the bar and begin to eat, when you hear a tussle upstairs. Probably nothing. Meanwhile, from the corner of your eye you see a man in a long cloak stare at you. Outside you can hear horses being packed and saddled by someone leaving in a hurry.

You have time before the duck arrives. You could investigate any of those events, or simply avoid trouble and eat.
