Dungeon Point Generation I - 5 Experience
Save 5 experience for later use.

Summon 2 skeletons (5*2DP), arm them with spears and leather armor

Summon a bat (10DP)
______________________
I see little need in spending experience right now. Better minions are nice but so far everything can be solved by numbers, and we need no item analysis yet. I prefer to save experience for the next level of DP generation.

Bat is great for scouting\chasing runaways

That is a version one plan before I get answers on questions below
___________

Questions -
1)do we get 10DP for each leather armor item converted or for both of them?
2) What can we get for converting rusty swords back into DP?

War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.

10 DP each.
For converting rusty swords back you get their cost so 5 DP.

I have an important question: seeing as we seem to lack any means to heal our minions, would having the other skeletons kill the most damaged one and then resurrect it via Defy death be considered something valid?

That is a perfectly valid method though your minions do naturally regenerate health over time, the damaged skeleton won't heal for a few days but the method you use is up to you.

OK, new plan, aka ranged combat:

Dungeon Point Generation I - 5 Experience
Save 5 experience for later use.

2* Skeleton [Rusty Sword] > 2* Skeleton [Spear]
Convert 2 rusty swords and 2 leather armor into DP for 30DP

Summon
2* Skeleton [Bone Shortbow] (30DP)

Summon two bats (20DP)

_____

Reasoning:

1) We save experience for later use because only more DP is necessary right now.
2) Leather armours aren't great in protecting skeletons. And Skeletons are cheap anyway. I prefer more offensive power.
3) 2 more archers improve our ranged combat.
4)  Bats are way more mobile than skeletons. We need something fast to not let anyone to run away.

If you want the skeleton to regain health then nope that won't work.

Also, couldn't we just reanimate the fleshy guards as zombies?

If you had a minion option for that, but currently you're only capable of creating skeletons and giant bats.

There are obvious gameplay reasons for why that wouldn't be allowed; we must have to unlock the ability to heal minions. And realistically, you'd need to snap it off and find a way to attach the new one... It probably wouldn't be any stronger.

Skeletons are pretty much unintelligent, so they're not going to be making armor, and the only way for you to obtain equipment is spawning it or getting it as loot from intruders. Also uh ... rib cages aren't exactly prime armor material.

Well even if it isn't prime armor, it's better then absolutely nothing.

If you could make armor out of a rib cage mechanically it'd have no effect at all, so not better than absolutely nothing.
