Thinking I'll give up on Rockhome; Too slow, and it would be difficult to get the dome finished before the new release makes all this obsolete.

Burrows will be awesome.

I saw my first dragonbreath today, am I the only one who nearly shit my pants when I saw how big it was?  Dragon was promptly and utterly annihilated afterwords, didn't even leave behind a corpse, but one of my champions got the kill.

Spicevisions, the latest desert fort has struck the earth and has begun establishing itself.

For this game, I made both the dwarves and humans able to bring all kinds of animals, including GCS. Mainly for the hell of it and because that tamed resident creature going hostile bug is damn annoying.

Not sure what I'll be doing for this fort since the new release is coming in a few weeks for sure.

Hey, I'm cool with you tying a dog up and shooting it with a ballista if you're short on elves, but there's not need to lie about it to us.

All the new features that have been added are listed here by some player, can't remember their name at the moment unfortunately. Last item under Organization is Liaisons will be be generated from scratch if they die.

EDIT: Can't seem to find the thread I found the link in either, so the list may not have been updated recently.

Oh wow. This will be freaking epic.

The *large serrated steel disk* strikes the Raven in the head, tearing apart the muscle, shattering the skull, and tearing apart the brain!
A tendon in the skull has been torn!
The Raven has been knocked unconcious!

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.

After experimenting in a desert setting today, I've decided I'm gonna build a massive desert fortress, starting tomorrow. Tonight, I pick a suitable site.

I agree. I think this is going to be like the 2D->3D change in terms of how people play the game.

Waited out my second orc siege. I finally finished the steel armor for my first and second squads, and I've assigned my soldiers white gold war hammers (Dig Deeper gold/nickel alloy with 50% damage) so as soon as they finish training I'll kick the orcs asses so traders can get through. I haven't even managed to trade once in this damn fortress.

Amusing story: the elves actually made it, but I had to wall them in when the orcs showed up. After they all had safely gone melancholy or babbling, the orcs left so I had the walls removed. I watched as  my dwarves began unpacking their animals for them, carefully storing the goods in their own stockpiles. I know that what really happened was the pack animals dropped all their goods when they went bonkers, but it was a funny mental image.

I'm debating whether I want to rig up a huge axle across the map, rig up a few perpetual motion machines, or just have my dwarves hand pump the magma into my obsidian farm. My ultimate project is to build an obsidian tower by hand - partly because it seems more dwarfy to build it than grow it, and partly because I don't have the expertise to magma-cast a tower.
