Urist Mc Stonecrafter cancels Craft Stone Mug: taken by mood...

to go AAALLL the way up to the top craftdorf workshop. From the one he was in making stone mugs.

Picky, picky!

Hope he doesn't ask for shells, it's a fey mood :D

I love my mason.
Here is the last statue he made:
"This is a finely-crafted statue of Tekkud Bannerrelease. The item is a finely designed image of Tekkud Bannerrelease and two akantors in dacite by Asmel Neciknil. Tekkud Bannerrelease is embracing the two akantors"

So.
I learned firsthand about pressure today.

...It was a painful lesson. But thankfully I had built a safe mechanism I immediately shut off.

My net gain was a new irrigated farm system, ending my fort's second painful year without food. I'm not remotely sure how I'm still alive. I'm guessing the dogs and cats I brought were a part of it, along with a welcome visit from the elves.

Had my first haunting, which was a feature I didn't know about. Stupid miner drowned when I told him to dig me a well. So he dug one, straight down, killing himself. My fault really. But now he's finally at peace.

And then it's pretty much a normal fortress from then on.
I find the idea of a normal fortress amusing.

OH GOD OH GOD.

Secretive metalcrafter needs cut gems.

Spoiler: Big image (click to show/hide)

...Yeah.

My options are: Dig deeper (running the risk of exposing the caverns before I'm ready), dig deeper with the help of dfreveal (which I don't want to do because it would feel like cheating), modding in a reaction to produce cut rock crystals or something (see reason for not using reveal), or letting him go insane (which will rob me of my only engraver, and I have no military to speak of in case he berserks).

You have no gems at all ?

Maybe wait for the caravan, or make green glass. If you have sand.

I sometimes bring sand bags because they're really just cheaper bags.

Had a weird message that Urist McMacedwarf entered a martial trance, except that I don't have a macedwarf. I zoomed to the location and it was deep underground. Who the hell is he and what's he doing all the way down there? lol.

I really hate buzzards.

So, it seems, does one of my hens. A buzzard decided to attack her, so she bit it's head, shook it around a bit, then basically tore it's wing off.

I guess you could say that hen wasn't chicken to let it's feelings be known.

More often than not, those message are on the buggy side when it comes to showing you WHERE it is happening. You'll have more luck using the name of said inexistent macedwarf to track him down in the (u)nits screen.

so, i savescummed this world a few days ago because of a massive siege...it came again, but i was prepared this time...my 3 wide entrance corridor for caravans, 14 long...FULL of cage traps, everyone either got captured, or went into my internal only hatch into my military burrow, so much goblinite, lots of its copper, some silver, im melting it all, and waiting for a caravan to offload the rest of the goblinite, something odd i noticed though, there's some miasma down in my mess hall, with no rotton food nearby, i've checked every tile of miasma via k and nothin at all

So I locked my mayor in his room while the merchants were around to try to get a baron.  A siege comes by and I end up forgetting about the dude.  Later I get a ..has starved to death message and the diplomat has left unhappy.

....uh...oops?
