My weaver went berserk from not having body parts to build with.  :P

After a while they somehow started interfereing with work around the whole fortress even though they were locked up.

I had to choice but to release them. By then 16 whole pages had been filled up with their interuptions.

A few soliders came, but I was amazed by what my marksdwarf did with an iron crossbow and wooden bolts.
It sounded like a very effective way of killing someone. First the legs to keep them from moving, then their stomach to kill them.

I bet it's nothing new, but felt like sharing.
I would have been more impressed if they were shot in the eyes.

So I was playing this mod, and a Dark Strangler siege came in.

They brought a war elephant, it got cage trapped along with half the force.

They also chased one of the grazing elephants nearby into my fort. I have a two dwarf millitary, one in full bronze with proficient in most relevant skills, one with a bronze breastplate bronze greaves and a copper short sword, and dabbling in all relevant skills except armor using and shiled using. They're stationed in a 3x10 hallway in the entrance of my fort.

Cue the trained guy doing nothing and the untrained guy kiting the elephant around the hallway a couple times without taking a scratch.

I figured you could always damn a river by channeling out it out all the way into Hell.

Two weaponsmiths recently mooded, resulting in a lead battle axe (Armok have mercy on the poor schlub tasked with swinging that beast) and an aluminum short sword. Once I get around to quarrying out more marble, it'll mean masterwork steel battle axes for everybody!

My meat industry is humming along now that we have several breeding pairs each of gigantic horses, cattle, donkeys and deer. Plus the elves keep bringing me goodies like giant tigers and giant scorpions.

Vulcar Patternsmith, my most unlucky miner ever, has just got more major wounds to his hands while removing stair. A simple 1 tile stair dug into cavern wall, not supporting anything (He mined upper parts away first) crashed on his both hands during removal. I dont understand how this happened, but atleast doctors are getting training. Last year his left hand and wrist broke when destroying the supporting part of some cliff.  ::)

"The Playful Corridor" a large rat leather thong  ::)  A possession too.  Great way to start a fortress.

I'm trying to recreate the dwarf that was weilding both a crossbow and a sword.

It would be cool to have it shoot arrows while the enemy's far away, then slap it with a sword.

I'm currently training a ten-dwarf military. I'd had plans of having them try to clear out my cavern, then realized it didn't have many occupants in the first place. More caverns are being breached with the same result.

EDIT: well, I pissed off the crocodile and a legendary miner is heading to emergency surgery with a missing arm. Guess that's what i deserve for smugness.

Training a weaponsmith, throwing invaders in a pit. Waiting for invaders to die of infected wounds in their broken limbs so I can add some steel hammer traps so that they die slightly faster.

Also, one of my dwarfs made a statue of one of my adventurers starving to death. I abandoned that adventurer in his first battle.

Adding history to 30 year old worlds is so easy!

Waiting to see what will happen now that I've met all the requirements in the "Becoming the Capital" section.

Do you always look at it in ASCII?

You get used to it, I don't even see the ASCII.  All I see is blacksmith, miner, goblin.
