The atmosphere is so dense, nothing that has evolved flight has kept it for long, except the subterranean giant cyclops dragonflies. They also are somehow able to project certain spectrums of rays through said eye - gamma and X - for a very short time. That's right - laser beam eyes.

The first colonists brought along advanced solar powered terraforming and construction robots capable of surviving the acid rain, sand storms and other hazardous conditions on the planet.

What caused them to malfunction is unknown but the robots can still be found roaming the deserts, killing and dismembering any lifeforms they come into contact with.

Except the ones who have develop chameleon camouflage that renders them completely invisible. They're also cold-blooded and invisible to thermal sensors, can see in several light spectrums at once themselves, and are capable of silent movement.

Some of the trees can give you a nasty rash if they sneeze on you.

Constant steam covers certain areas, burning anything that comes near it. This comes from naturally heated underground water.
(It would be interesting to let this run for a while and then make a tribe game about this.)

This steam comes both from volcanism and the natural fission reactors previously mentioned.

The planet is stupidly high in natural resources, drawing a steady stream of brave (or foolhardly) prospectors.

Many of the trees have teeth. Many people who stray too close lose limbs. There probably isn't any correlation.

The only area on the planet not home to dangerous and hostile creatures are the deepest caverns on the planet - because nothing has evolved a high enough temperature resistance to withstand the extreme heat.

There are several symbiotic species of fungi that grow in sinkholes. These absorb acid and spew out, grind up anything that moves into easy to digest bits, and are inhabited by vicious insectoid creatures that will tear apart anything that thretens the fungi home.

Many pools of water are purified of acid and bacteria by a tree. These trees grow acidic fruits which drop, damaging the trunk. The trees have a symbiotic relationship with amphibious creatures. These amphibious things spew a hallucongentic substance, are covered in spikes, have vicious teeth, and are highly territiorial

There exists a race of generous yet incompetent alien natives, who are strongly driven to assist and give material aid to those in need, and are immune to or ignored by several of the hazards in their area. Problem is, many of said hazards have instead adapted to prey on those who approach them for help.

one way of surviving this planet is to find a very rare form of partite, and allow it to enter you as a host.

while this is dangerous for obvious reasons, if you survive long enough, it will enter a symbiotic stage.

symbiotic stage benefits include-

resistant to pain.

physical changes, such as blades of the parasites hard shell coming out of your arm. (if you have ever played star fox assault just imagen a human that's been infected by the apirioids)

and immunity to acid

downsides being the parasitic stage causing massive pain.
high chance of death.
ect.

In the skys is  a species of giant insectoid cretures. Though there wings are very fragile and and damage to them will cause them to plummet to their earth, when they land, they will explode in a massive blast. Also, their meter long stingers can be launched with sufficient force to penetrate steel, and reeled back. And spew a deadly venom. And they have a crude swarm intelligence.
