((this is a death world, with acid rain, natural nuclear reactors, acid spiting killer plants, and a god that kills colonist. it doesn't need sense.))

But what about the helpful natives who are immume to/ignored by most hazards because they often inadvertently help locate food when they go to help off-worlders?

That's what I was talking about.

There are two species of plants who are very similar. Both have a symbiosis with a type of spiders. The spiders link networks of webs to the plants. One plant, when the webs are triggered, lash about with dozens of thorny vines. Anything caught by these vines will be dragged near the plant to fertilize the soil and be fed by spiders.

The other shoots sharp seed pods at anything that triggers the web. The spiders feed on the corpse, and a new plant grows from it

As for how this works, life on this planet is so resilient that it can outlive its own death.

Isn't this a thing from another thing? We should try to be a bit more original.

Okay, how about...Every month swarms of omnivorous miles wide wipe the world clean of life only for everything to come back again, because death simply refuses to associate itself with this place.

-1. Let's not be unrealistic.

All fanfics are heresy, each and every one, especially the shipping ones. Those are by far the worst.
