And then we send in our Metal Bawkses, and steal the KX9 Metal Bawkses with the Blod Rehvens.

Or, we could just give them a case of werewolves, that should stop their assimilation, improvement, and expansion until Humanity catches up.

I still think we should infect them with a case of Werewolf. That should make them rampaging animals of pure desire, and thwart their technological advance (slightly).
Besides, they might just drop that "we're post scarcity, therefore awesome" attitude and instead go "I'm a f***ing werewolf".

1. Create Emprah
2. Emprah create Roboute Guilliman
3. Roboute Guilliman create Ultramarines
4. KX9 kill themselves because they can never become Ultramarines

Hey, they'd do it to themselves (eventually) anyway.

Besides, with the sudden Werewolf case, they'd be distracted for a while, and many would experience the thrill of being a f***ing Werewolf.
Then it suddenly becomes a hobby, and BAM! Now we've reduced the research efficiency by about 10-25% because sometimes you just want to go Werewolf.

Edit: Also, the KX9 are already super powerful, being werewolves wouldn't make a difference power wise.
