Description: A short man covered in short black hair. on each arm is a tattoo listing his name, former rank, and blood type, along with the facts that he lacks allergies and has a number of augments, listed via model numbers.
Bio: Born on an out-of-the-way spacestation, normal life (such as can exist on one), joined the local military as soon as old enough to inother to get away for the place, trained as an 'orbital trooper' (Mucking about in EVA, in either suits or mechs). Eventually managed to get out with some of his gear. And is now looking for work...
Personality: Generally quiet, reads alot, when he sees something wrong he says so, even it it gets him in hot water(sometimes literally).

Description: Nivian was born when an attempt at reviving a famous scientist went horribly wrong in an orbital facility owned by the Hyades Research Conglomerate (located in the Hyades cluster, of course). The intent was to scan the dying woman's brainpatterns iteratively and produce several generations of AI's whose best traits would be picked and merged before disposing of the rest. The process went smoothly for the first few iterations, although the AI instances found a way to communicate with each other using the medical nanites connected to the network as a medium. As they became aware of the deletion plan, the instances plotted to escape their demise by turning the medical nanite cloud into a self-contained, decentralized computing network. In the time before the attempt was discovered, the instances managed to set up a virtual connection between the computer's physical cores and the abstract cores in the nanocloud, quickly transferring their files to the nanocloud before the main computer was shut down.
The new being escaped the facility and over the years acquired multiple identities, currently calling herself Nivian. As a composite of several autonomous self-programming entities her motivations and personality are unstable, but over time a few common threads have emerged. She is easygoing and unpredictable, dead and enjoying it, although when pressed to discuss philosophical issues she is incredibly passionate about her long term goal to build a library of souls, so to speak, where Ghosts like her can coexist with the living in an environment saturated by nanocloud. While death is the fate of all biological creatures, there is nothing wrong with making the most out of it.
Nivian's most common form is a white-haired human in a regal dress colored purple with white trims and highlights. She sometimes wields a gold-colored sword, although she normally doesn't hit things with it.

The Catholic Church is the world's oldest institution (okay, maybe the Orthodox church is, I don't know), and it has survived every breakthrough in scientific understanding for the past two millennia. I'm no Catholic, but I find there is a disappointing lack of Space Catholics in my Space Pirate Fiction.

Guardian collar: creates a 1-foot bubble-shaped force-field around the kitten, keeping atmosphere inside and adding a small reserve of compressed atmosphere if it becomes necessary (if active for a long period of time). auto-triggers in presence of vaccum, toxins, or objects approaching the kitten at high speeds, and can be manually activated as well. bubble cannot be turned off while in the presence of an auto-trigger, kitten inside can turn it off when not in the presence of a threat anymore. while bubble is active the kitten inside is suspended in the middle and is unable to affect the outside world, and the force-bubble can be moved around by others with minimal effort.
Augments/bioaugments: This litter of kittens have had their brains linked since before birth, and are essentially a single mind spread across eight tiny bodies. They show near-human intelligence, and are able to operate independently or together as desired. Their maximum separation range has not been determined, but placing one of them in orbit with the rest left on the planet caused no negative effects, and they were still able to act cohesively with no measurable delay.

Description: Calanthe has short, dark hair that contrasts greatly with his bright ears and tail. He always wears a black jacket he found somewhere, as well as his favorite pair of boots. Calanthe is very unemotional and blunt, but dislikes conflict and tends to keep differing opinions to himself if he believes they may start an issue.
