I volunteer to go and explore the presumed colony. It will get me out of the palace benefit the empire to know the feasibility of colonization. Since those are unknown and pirate infested regions, I would requisition a fleet. It would be useful either as an escort to the colony ship or as a subjugation force should locals prove stupid in same bag as the pirates. .

My good emperor, of course you have not lost us.  We simply awaited your return.  I applaud your bravery Count Khaziraad.  I hope you have the greatest of luck during your journey and return to a system taken by me in prosperity.

I support Count Khaziraad's request of your Excellency. I recommend that a colonization is attempted and an armed subjugation a contingency. A elated happy content peaceful planet is an easily-taxed planet.

Name: Cornelius Beardius Scoopzen Von Landshut
Imperial Title: Emperor of Humanity, King of Earth & Nispes Minor 3, and 67th Baron Munchën

"Of course, as is the will of the Empire, a fleet and... strategic ground assets shall be constructed to settle this new world. At its head, our dear Count Von Khaziraad. In addition, I shall be sending young Count Ferip to oversee the security of this colony, though in the matter of dealing with this planet he shall ultimately answer to Count Von Khaziraad. As the military is expanded and this world brought in to the fold, I shall, of course, keep the Imperial Parliament updated."

(OOC: After I conclude the next update, would you guys [DreamerGhost and Inteuniso] be interesting in doing a little RP AAR/Story? Of course, I'll send you a ton of material [and a save/number of saves] to work with. Speaking of which, next update in the next few days, after which things shall hopefully be moving at a more acceptable pace.)

Personal black box of Hiranus von Khaziraad, log #009456

Voice maches found,
Commodore Hiranus von Khaziraad
Captain Geros Micht
                                                                         identified.

Finally, I am away from the crowded council rooms.

There were six people there, sir.

Mentally crowded! These are leaders of the Empire, and while I have full faith in Emperors abilities, the rest of nobles seem to have been selected entirely from worst dredges of humanity.

Surely, you are overstating slightly. They are there because Emperor sees them as useful is some way. Sir.

I trust you did see the meeting yourself, and did not go off for a nap during the discussion? I installed the transmitter in my left eye for a damn reason.

I did see it, and there were some rather intelligent suggestions. I am particularly fond of the fleet of carriers idea, sir.

Choice of a coward, but I would not expect anything else from a room of civilians. Civilians and cutthroats. Have you seen that fiend Lordas? Ridiculous name, ridiculous hair, ass for a chin and a mind of a snake most devious. I swear, that wine he brought was drugged. He may had even paid off my informant so that I would not get a proper update on who is important nowadays within the empire. Can you imagine, I spent almost entire evening mispronouncing name of the only lord I liked?

I am fairly certain that Lordas had nothing to do with that particular event. It is possible that it was just a provincial pronunciation, as sir Hyttenrauth used the same name.

That smug snake, while he's technically my superior, I have some doubts about him. Ahh, if my lands were not within the firm grasp of my loyal regent, I would turn this fleet around and rush back immediately. Yet all men have their price, and while I doubt that any save the Emperor himself would be able to match my rates, I have no desire to test this.

I do believe one of the Lords is to travel with us?

Yes, one Koshan Ferip. He rules a planet within the capital system, and I have a hunch that this may be a ploy to temporarily get rid of him. While I would argue that anyone looking that sad cannot possibly be a good leader, anyone to take his place would most certainly be far more vile and aggressive. I'd rather not have someone who got promoted by a well-placed knife in the back within the same room as the Emperor. Order the personal dining room to be prepared, for VIPs. I shall meet Ferip in person, with proper privacy to discuss this expedition and its consequences.

Yes sir.

Log end.

I died. The whole way through. Such truthiness. He didn't drug the wine, but paying off your informant is totally something he would do and I am retconning it to be so.
