Sorry for the delay and for having no sence of proportion. Here is my character sheet:
Name: Jen
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Description: Jen is about 36 years old. She is rather short - approximately 1.6 m tall, and looks kinda mannish: smart and brawny, with short, obviously neglected black hair. She's wearing a linen shirt with long wide sleeves, thin-leathern trousers and a jacket and high boots. All her clothes appear dusty; an attentive observer can notice that she's hiding knives in her boot-top and is carrying a scabbard on her forearm. She has also a holster on her hip, but she always prefered knives to fire-arms and use it only when there is no other way to fix the problem. It's not quite clear if she is unfriendly, taciturn or simply shy, but she keeps vigilant watch on what is happenning and listens to the talking around her.
Augment Type: Supernatural
Beneficial Augment: Jen feels the location of large bodies of water, huge rocks, large forests and other monumental natual objects. Theoretically she can't get lost, but as she never tried to develop or perfect this skill and never really cared for where she's going to, she often gets confused.
Negative Augment: When Jen gets near such an object she becomes very nervous, gets nightmares, becomes liable to go into hysterics and, basically, starts slowly losing her mind. Events like thunderstorms affects her the same way. Still, she controls herself really well.
Backstory: She was born in a comparatively rich family and spent first 15 years of her life among nurse-maids and, later, in boarding school, while her parents were travelling between the scanty settlements, trading. Once their caravan was attacked by the bandits and, as Jen was told, her mother was enslaved and father died of wound.
Soon the pre-paid boarding school money were over and the land lady regretfully thrown Jen with her beloved little brother away, justifying this action by the fact that boarding school is not an asylum or any other kind of charitable institution. Jen was the only person alive and able to take care of her brother, whom she truly and sincerely loved. At the age of 15 the easiest way to find a source of money was either to marry anyone who would like to take an orphan to wife or become a street whore. The first trick didn't come off and the second way filled Jen with nausea. She couldn't bring herself to take up this way, so she tried all the other things she could: she's been a dishwasher, a gofer, a waiter, a street pilferer from time to time. She wasn't taught anything useful before, she never tried washing the dishes and wasn't ready for a life of a homeless beggar. There were times when they had nothing to eat and days they were glad they have a fat pigeon. But as her salf-defence skills (necessary for her situation) improved she more and more often was able to throw her self-made spear or her knife she found in a gutter neatly.
Few years after she gained a permanent post in a tavern at the outskirts. She hated it with all her heart but thus she got a room and food for brother and herself.
Once she met the Master surrounded by his followers in the street. He gave her a small coin, told she had the gift (mentioned before) and passed by.
At the age of 20 she cut her hair away, pretended to be a man and successfully enlisted the guard. Jen expected to be send to the desert, where she hoped to find her mother at one of the tribe sites. Instead she was ordered to patrol the streets. She didn't leave because of the good salary and waited for her brother to grow up.
As he turned 16 she hired out as a security guard to a trade caravan and since then has traveled all over the map. Nobody doubted her anymore. There was no difference for Jen where to go now, she had no true friends and no life goal: one of her tasks was completed- her brother has become a potter, joined the guild, married a good girl and now had all his life in front of him. As for the second... She still cherishes the hope to find her mother or to revenge her family, but doesn't care much about it as well.
A few days before she was visiting her brother in Buffalo's rest and overheard some romours about the group, which is going to set off for the Master. Jen easily found out the details and suddenly decided to use her savings (rather much) to join the expedition, to find the mighty man, who was once kind to her, and to change her life completely at last. That is why she came here on the outskirts of Buffalo's Rest packing her supplies onto the great undying elephant for travel. Not that she is not counting on some kind of reward in case she find the old. Will he help her find where the bandits who ruined her family 21 yaer ago, or grant her with some powers, or?
Not exactly what I was intended to make originally, but I hope will do. I'm not sure about the augment; fix it, if you have better idea.
