After an hour had past, Warek began heading over to the barracks, and the others followed along.

The tall building was easy to find, being the only one made out of proper stone, rather than timber and thatching.
They went inside to find a surprisingly small room, with a table in the center, and a distinct lack of chairs.

The pink-haired woman was inside, leaning over the table with a map laid out in front of her.
She looked up at the group, and pointed a finger at each one in turn.
"Eight of you. Well, that should be enough."
She straightened herself up and spun the map around to face the group, and pointed a finger towards the northern part, along the path through the forest.
"Impiyego forces have cut a path through the forest all the way down to these mountains here. All of their major traffic has to run along this route, which is good for us. Our scouts have informed us that two days ago, there was a force down at the mountains, and they attacked some area of natives that we haven't explored thoroughly yet. They were seen loading up a group of wagons with various things. Our scouts say they saw a large number of these 'wyverns' being loaded into one. If Impiyego manages to get their hands on these, and train them, then our only advantage over them from our fliers will be gone. So we're going to head north to cut off the wagons, and ambush them."
She looked up at everyone.
"Any questions?"

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

"Do we know what kind of forces they have? Numbers, and stuff like that?"
"Not entirely. But knowing them, I expect them to outnumber us. But that doesn't make them more powerful than us."
  "What weapons do they posses?"
"Pretty much anything you can think of. They don't have equipment shortages like we do. Hopefully, we might be able to get some of theirs on this run."

Tracey holds up a finger, she's nervously chewing on her lip.
"Um, I don't know if you have a use for me... I'm just a dancer... but I'd be happy to help with this if possible."

"No, ma'am," Saburou says, giving the woman a salute. Whoever she was it was quite obvious that she was important if she was commanding everyone around like this.

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

Chapter 1
Ambush

The ragtag group of Alemnian troops marched through the forest to the path that been carved out by the Impiyego.

When they reached it, they made camp in a clearing just out of reach of the trail, and lay in wait for the Impi wagon convoy.

"Not as many troops as I expected. This shouldn't be too hard..."
"Wait, that last one is a prisoner wagon. They've got captives."

"...If it weren't for these damned monsoons turning the path to mud, we'd already be back."
"Savor the time we have, Michael. How better to observe the wrath of nature, than to walk through it ourselves?"
The woman turned her staff to the side, and a small patch of flowers withered to black.
"I'll savor a mug of ale when we get back. And a fresh set of socks, while we're at it."

"Damned be the Impiyego's pretentiousness."

"Miss Tracey, remember the magic of your performances can help us press forward faster." he said as he tried to make his way through the trees.
