I agree to searching one last time, but, after this, everything with a time marker on it must be treated with extreme care.
Also, its safe to note that we notice a strange creature that we cant place, staring at us. We should commit its form to memory.

The Pilot and their cargo handlers paused when they saw that the entire camp is covered in eldritch runes coated in blood. And rotting monkey corpses everywhere..

They decide that they didn't get paid enough for this..

(Actually, the only thing preventing you from repetition is the time limit.)
Do we know how much time we have left?

apparently not yet, but we will either know when we will run out, or when we find the thing that lets us know.

Maybe both. Because the thing that lets us know could be running out.

1) Search the shelf

There had to be something useful in it...

46: Succeeded!
Another tray pulled out and emptied into the floor. You groan as the heavy weight spilled forth from the metallic container. Your eyes lit up as the moonlight caught on something shiny, but as you knelt down to inspect them you find that there are many of these shiny objects. Too many to be keys. Some of them aren't even that shiny.

At least they seem valuable, you suppose.

...You have found 10 Rusted Brass Coins! Perhaps you could take a closer look at them later.

1) Search the shelf (1 minute)

There had to be something useful in it...

2) Key be damned, let's just smash the door down. (5 minutes)

The thing in the corner is making you nervous. You found a hammer in the shelf. Maybe you should just hit the lock until it breaks.

3) There we go!

You found the key. Let's get out of here.

4) Okay, fine, what do you want?

The Thing in the Corner points its... appendage at the vial in your hand.

5) Kick the door down (10 minutes)

The door might be able to withstand battering from tools, but that doesn't mean it can withstand you.

6) Write-In

You have a better idea...

I'm pretty sure the thing doesn't care about money. it's an eldritch abomination for goodness sake.

2) Key be damned, let's just smash the door down. (5 minutes)

The thing in the corner is making you nervous. You found a hammer in the shelf. Maybe you should just hit the lock until it breaks.

You give the door's plate a smack with the hammer, then another, and another, and yet another... Your labour continued on for a while, pausing slightly to rest your arm and examining your progress. With one last hit, the plate- and the locking mechanism, caved in. One more hit, and the door opened wide.

1) Search the shelf (1 minute)

There had to be something useful in it...

2) Okay, fine, what do you want?

The Thing in the Corner points its... appendage at the vial in your hand.

3) Offer coins to the Thing in the Corner (1 minute) New

You have no idea why it would be interested in some rusty coins, but you never know...

4) Freedom!

Finally you can leave this dismal room. You don't know what lies outside. New

5) Write-in
