"I- I can't wear a backless dress." Sweetpea said with some alarm. The great scar was a mess of dull white and crimson scar tissue, front and back.
Still, it'd be nice to wear a pretty dress.
"I'm in though."

Johanna tut-tutted in a way only practiced nobles could.

"Ah, I mean the back of the neck, dear-ruffled collars are out, and good riddance, I say! I didn't mean we'd be exposing our actual backs-perish the thought. We're not barbarians." She announced imperiously.

"Wait, Barbarians wear less clothes? How the heck do they not get hurt in fights? Let's go meet some barbarians."

"Well, barbarians tend to be tougher because they don't rely on such ah, modern conveniences. They live in wild lands and have to be go without many of the things we take for granted-it makes them stronger in many ways. I've heard tales that they can shrug off injuries and pain that would cripple ordinary warriors.

And, I doubt we'll see many down here, but if traveled North to Icewind Dale you would see plenty of them. There's also some tribes in the Evermoors, I recall..."

[Culise]

"Indeed, there certainly are some, but not so many as one would think.  The Evermoors are mostly the domain of trolls and lizardfolk, but there have been more giants in recent years."

[FelixSparks]

Arwen listens eagerly, like a child outside of a sweetshop. "I'm liking all of this so far..."

[Dwarmin]

"To be honest, haven't we all sorts of evil things springing up lately? Those Orcs-never the most pleasant of neighbors-have gotten much more aggressive lately. Some people claim the Treaty of Garumn's Gorge is so much wiping paper. It's likely they'll be war, sooner rather than later...raids have already been going back and forth for years. My father has had to heavily arm our caravans going Northwards. Ill news, I'm sure, but it's best to take it on a full stomach."

"...indeed," Mirella said softly.  "And there are the few tribes who never accepted the rule of the King.  One can hope for peace, but..." she trailed off, not quite willing to finish the thought.

Johanna nods grimly.

"...prepare for war, indeed.

You know, some would say Orcs are inherently evil-that they were created  by their evil God only to destroy and cause havoc-and that Men, Elves and Dwarves were created by the Gods inherit with a free will to choose right, or wrong. I'm not sure what to think of that...seems a suspicious way to imply we should be less merciful to our enemies, when mercy is exactly the trait that makes us better then them."

Arwen scoffs."Bull. Nothing is INHERENTLY evil. Sometimes we just read from different books, or have different circumstances. It's just the people in charge never want to admit they're wrong." He sips on an ale thoughtfully.

[Dwarmin]

"Still, it's a theory. If the Gods created the world, and all the beings in it, and Gods are clearly capable of their own forms of good and evil-it might stand to reason that some of the beings they created might be unredeemable...but, Men and Dwarves can be cruel as any Orcs. Does it really matter if Evil is inherent, or chosen? Seems to me like you would have a hard time telling the difference, from your mortal point of view."

All of this philosophy talk went a little over Sweetpea's head.
"Does it matter? I done bad things. Doesn't make me evil. But some people are. They're rotten."
