Turn 13
[Prev][Next]

Garrick

[INI][INI]
[ATK][DDG][DMG][RST]

With the odds stacked in your favor, the Gretchin can do nothing to stop the deadly spear that runs him through.

You earn 8 exp (26 until next level), and the Gretchin drops four coins.

With all dangers cleared, you finally evaluate your surrounds. You're in an unlit room, the door you entered from to your South. There's another door to your East, and one to your North; though that one seems to be locked.

Barry

[LRN]
[LRN]

[DMG][A:RST]

You suddenly get an epiphany.
You should learn magic.

Pointing your bow by the tip at the Zombie, you say the first thing that comes to your mind:
"Emorior!"

Nothing happens. You try again with the next thing that comes to mind:
"In flama peribit!"

A little fire flares out in the Zombie's hair, doing a little damage.
Then the fire dies.

You stand there in shock for a bit before coming back.

Spoiler: Nidilap (click to show/hide)

Aoshi

You carefully turn the corner, but there's nothing there.

The now unlit hallway extends far to the South. To the West is a door and a branch in the corridor immediately after.

Grigori

[INI][D:INI]
[D:ATK][DDG][D:DMG][RST]
[ATK][D:DDG]

You charge at the Troglodyte, but he's prepared; he scratches you for 17 damage!
You then swing your hammer, coming in for massive damage.
It smashes into the wall where the Troglodyte was not a second go.

Hearing a small fizzle, you then turn to see the other Zombie's hair frizz for a bit, on fire. You notice the Troglodyte doing so as well. The two of you are stunned until you both realize, at the same time, that you're still fighting.

Sorry for the late update; later ones might be much more sporadic.

((That's ok, Roary, I'm just glad to see this is still going. ^^))

Sweet! Since everything is going pretty well for me so far, though, I won't push my luck any further than I have to. I grab all the coins from the fallen gretchin(s) and head to the door on the right side of the room, and sit down next to it. The rest of my turn will be spent taking a breather, putting 4 notches into the shaft of my spear so far (to signify my kills), and tuning my senses to try and hear anything going on behind the east door. I will also look myself over for any wounds or scrapes I can bandage or make less uncomfortable, in the interest of regaining a few lost hit points.

Walk to the door. Listen closely. Check the door for traps. Peek behind the corner. Pick the door open if it is locked and/or open it carefully without revealing myself to anything that might be inside.

Turn 14
[Prev][Next]

Garrick

[HP+]

You pick up your well-deserved seven coins, then sit at the corner to rest.
You heal 5 HP this turn.
Spoiler: Map (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Xvareon (click to show/hide)

Barry

[LRN]
[DMG]
[A:RST]

"In flama peribit, magnior!" you scream.

Nothing happens.

The next thing that comes to your mind is the phrase "in igne mori".

Right after the words come out of your mouth, the Zombie flares up.

The flames don't die.

You then mysteriously earn 14 exp. Looking over, you see that Grigori has taken down the Troglodyte. You've leveled up!
Spoiler: Map (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Nidilap (click to show/hide)

Aoshi

Your trip forwards is uneventful.
The South hallways continues to extend, and so does the West hallay, as it seems.
There's apparently another door right next to you; whoever designed that is really weird.

You can see only half the room, but a quick check determines nothing dangerous or interesting - in that half.

[D:ATK][DDG][D:DMG][RST]
[D:DTH]
[INI][D:INI]
[D:ATK][DDG][D:DMG][RST]
[ATK][D:DDG][DMG][D:RST]

You and the Troglodyte strike at the same time, you only a hair faster. Your blow almost kills him, but he retaliates, hitting you for 22 damage, and knocking you off balance.
Driven by pure determination, he strikes you again for 18 HP, and you only manage to scramble back to your feet and drive the hammer into his skull before the end of the turn.

You earn 14 exp and the Troglodyte drops six coins. You've leveled up!

A light suddenly flares, and you look over to see that Barry seems to have lit the Zombie on fire.

"Ahhh... much better!"

I examine the door to the north. If either it or the lock doesn't look too sturdy, I BASH the door open with my not-inconsiderable strength!

If it looks really thick and imposing, though, I just spend my turn listening at the east door for anything I can pick up.

Sneak into the room and give it a look. In case of enemies do a sneak attack. In case of loot, search for traps disabling any if found and then loot. Finally continue into hallway going to west.

Turn 15
[Prev][Next]

Garrick

The door isn't too bad - if you had a hammer, you could break it down in a single hit.
But you don't; you have a spear, and it would take about four hits.
Using your shoulder would waste the healing you did last turn.

Instead, you listen to the door on you East.

There's sounds of fighting and shouting - not distinct, but not too far away, either. The one yelling latin seems to be the one you almost met earlier, and the other has the same warcry as the one that disrupted your earlier conversation.

Barry

[RST]
[RST]

"In igne mori!
"In igne mori!"
, you shout, as Grigori bashes the flaming Zombie's head in.

You earn 5 exp (10 until level up). Five coins drop to the floor.
Spoiler: Map (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Nidilap (click to show/hide)

Aoshi

[STL][PRC]

You sneak in, but freeze as you see the Troglodyte strolling around inside. As it doesn't notice you, you take a look at your surroundings: it seems to be guarding a wooden chest and the North door.

Elements of Notice:
Troglodyte, level 1
Wooden chest

Grigori

Barry screams his spell, again, as you charge.

You bash the Zombie's head in as it flares up, one last time.

You earn 4 exp (16 until level up). Five coins drop to the floor.

Sorry for the very, very long wait.
Magic will be reordered fairly soon, so we'll look forwards to that.
Updates should come faster after two weeks when my exams will be over, since I'll be traveling to the US and will be bored out of my mind.

Hmm, let's see...

Sneak out of the room and close the door very carefully. Once outside, make some noise, like speaking myself trying to make it sound like people talking in distance. Hopefully it will attract the troglodyte outside. Listen carefully its movement. The moment it is about to step out the room stab it into eyes and finish it if possible.

If it does notice me sneaking out, then just jump out, make running noises and wait in ambush just outside of the room. Go for eyes.

I slowly open the east door and peek inside from the doorway, without fully entering the room under ANY circumstances. If I see any monsters on the other side, I stand my guard and prepare to RECEIVE CHARGE with my spear. If there's anything human-like that I could talk to, I loudly proclaim: "Oi! I've killed four beasties so far wot tried to take my head off! You best be a friend, else you'll be number five!"

Proper, rational greetings are the best way to establish lasting relations. ^^

Grigi, ol' boy. Where doe we go now?
"Haha, we showed these beast, yes! Perhaps we go through door over there, on left side of room?"

Grab loot on floor, then go and have a looksie/listen at the door on the left side of the room we're in.

Also, try to remember how I can get my health back.
