Don't for get to kneel down, extend hand and drop the weapons.

We will handle this in a way similer to the way you handle unfamiliar but not actively aggressive dogs.

(Asumeing it's smaller then us, if it's about the same size just drop wepon and extend hand)

Disable the creature with stabbings. No one in the swamp was nice to us save the slugs, this guy has got to be like all the others. We could recruit prisoners if we keep taking a few non-believers away to be eaten.

Also, we should had something in our teaching about the need to be fruitful and multiply, so those slugmen of our start having some serious hermaphrodite sex ASAP.

You call soothingly to the creature and drop your weapon while kneeling and dropping your nonexistent weapons. The Creature looks at ease until you stand up and make obscene humping gestures. The Creature throws his spear and hits you in your... your... Parts. You then collapse in total agony and wonder how your going to survive this. More creatures start running out of the cave and it looks like they have superior numbers and a handful have iron weapons. What do you do?

DANG IT!

we should have saved the humping gestures until AFTER we had befriended them.

we can still salvage this, attack but refrain from lethal hits unless necessary. capture as many as we can.
