Maybe Trump will cut a deal with Cruz to make him the SCOTUS nomination. After all, the Presidency is just 4-8 years...the SCOTUS is for life.

That, or he'll nominate Palin for the lulz.

There must be a bunch of Bush fans in there because Trump got boo'd for saying that the George W. Bush admin lied and that there weren't weapons of mass destruction (there never were, other tham maybe a few chemical stuff, but nothing like what we were looking for).

Well, it's probably explained by how they get their news: IIRC, when the report came out about the Bush administration having hidden the discovery of the degraded chemical weapons, Fox's reporting was essentially, "!!WE WERE RIGHT!! THEY FOUND WMD IN IRAQ!!"

What the claim was I believe, was that there were a bunch of nuclear warheads that Saddam had hidden somewhere, those we never did find.

The claim was more of a moving target than Saddam was. Team Bush moved the goalposts so much that they weren't even in the same damn stadium anymore.

Anyhow, theres a new SC poll by a group that is at least respectable, and the numbers are kind of similar, with trump at 35%, Kasich 15, Rubio 14, Cruz 12, Bush 10, Carson 2. Surely neither does Kasich. And neither do the punditry class: Kasich was supposed to be in the basement in South Carolina, but hoping to follow up in the Midwest and pull-through in Ohio.

This might change things.

That's interesting. Significantly more female voters are going for Kasich in that poll than male. Most of the other candidates are the other way around.

This was quite the news story to wake up to, I must say.

Question is, what does the Senate do now? Obama's got eleven months to appoint Scalia's successor; it won't look good if it refuses to go on a single recess just to keep him from appointing a Justice, and there are a lot of GOP seats up for re-election in swing states this year.

They've gone on recesses before and said they weren't, leaving a few people to gavel sessions in while everyone else was away to make it not-a-recess-in-practice. The supreme court invalidated recess appointments Obama made during one of these periods. So...

According to wikipedia, that's something the Democratic senate used to prevent Bush from making recess appointments.
