One of the best things about every political season is that there remains a slim but very real possibility that someone talented will make anime fight sequences of the candidates.

I for one am waiting for the inevitable epic rap battle of history.

I'm hopeful that it'll be a good one once it comes out. But Trump's already been in one, so that might complicate things.

Also, I took the quiz again and went Bernie - Clinton - Rand for my top three, so I'm apparently a socialist - robot - libertarian in my views.

Lindsey Graham is ending his campaign later today

I thought he might hold out until Iowa or something.

Well damn. I really thought Graham would hang in there until he got trounced in his home state. Guessing he ran out of cash.

Same here. The article doesn't cite cash as being a reason (if Gilmore can run his campaign on thin fumes, then I guess so could Graham, insofar as Gilmore is even running a campaign), sounded more like he didn't want to have an embarrasing loss in his home state.

How we just need about 6 or 7 more to drop out so that the main stage is at a more acceptable number, though it looks like a bunch of people could get shunted to the undercard depending on how Fox does the main stage cutoff percent.

Me too.  This despite the fact that I think Rand would probably do even more damage to the country then Trump if he had power.  Sure the man has glimmers of intelligence but it's directed towards destructive ends.

Rand really weirds me out because while he acts like Ron a lot of the time, occasionally he'll red shift into a religious right dominionist type with jarring speed. I wonder which is the mask, if not both.

Mask?  He thinks both are good and doesn't believe he needs to make any tradeoffs or compromises between the two.

Certainly it could be, but that's a lot of cognitive dissonance for one person to have. Or it's just alien to me. I can imagine a lot of theoretical apologetics and rationalizations between contradicting beliefs I've never held, but combining libertarian spam with religious supremacism returns zero results despite me having fervently believed both of those at different times.

*has a random thought about Graham potentially being a VP*

*changes mind because he really doesn't have anything that would fill in a weakness (besides being a veteran) of or acctenuate a strength of any of the top 7 frontrunners. With positions 6 and 7 varying by where you look.*

Although, as one article puts it, he's now in a position to be a 'kingmaker' (why do we even have that term when our revolution was in rejection of a king? heh) for his home state when the SC primary comes up.

I wonder, when was the last time that one of the party nominated a candidate that had not been a senator or governor?
