Memes are like bombs: the person that made one certainly contributed, but the effectiveness is really down to the person who times and places it, no?

Pandering? Oh noes. A politician, pandering, truly the end of days is nigh. This is an unprecedented occurrence that has shaken the Republic to its very core. How about those losers, huh guys? I'm glad MY preferred politician doesn't pander!

Personally I'm just imagining the response if there hadn't been a Star Wars movie coming out, and someone like Clinton just randomly ended the debate with "May the Force be with you" with a dead serious expression.

EDIT: This is an interesting issue. There is a disconnect between Bernie "Yes, I apologize." Sanders and the Sanders "Apologize for what?" Campaign.

When you account for the fact that presumably he slept last night it just means that it took a few hours of the time he was awake to realize that someone had screwed up and make a u-turn.

Theory of the GOP possibly mounting a third party challenge (as crazy as that sounds) to Trump should he become nominee: http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/12/donald-trump-2016-third-party-bid-213449

Not sure what you mean, but yeah, splitting from Trump-as-nominee would result in them losing to Clinton because the 'spoiler effect' would still take place due to splitting of the Republican vote.

Still though, it could end up looking something like the 1912 election if they did that, depending om how much of a chunk Trump actually takes from the party as a whole.

Also, in the first (mostly) post-debate Iowa poll, Cruz really sucked up the votes from the other candidates. The only ones above 5% are Trump, Cruz, Rubio, and Carson (at 6% and slowly freefalling), the rest are either 2% or less.

It's an internet based poll, so we'll have to see other polls to see how that holds up.

I wonder whether the Fox News debate on January will follow CNN's lead on the undercard cutoff. Though at this point I doubt much will change, Fiorina, Paul, and Carson (if he continues on his downward trajectory) might end up in the undercard.

I wonder if this might be because people didn't noticed Cruz was supposed to be the "crazy" candidate during the debate.  The politerati are assuming that everyone knows that Rubio, Bush, Kaisich, etc are "mainstream" candidates unlike Trump but also unlike Cruz and Carson.  But what would someone watching the first debate really see to establish that categorization?  Trump was a bit crazy but Cruz just looked like he was establishing his right wing credentials.  So to a lot of republican primary voters, Cruz might look like the mainstream dweeb they should support to keep the crazy (Trump or maybe Carson) out.

Or, more likely, it was the exchange he and Rubio had on immigration and using the magic word that is amnesty.

The NH poll from the same group is pretty similar to two previous ones on that state, so, this one looks like it might not be an anomaly.

Edit: Hm, from a Daily Mail (yeah, yeah, I know the Daily Mail sucks in general) article on the debates in general, I found this on Clinton:
"Family: Married to Bill Clinton (1975), the 42nd President of the United States. Their daughter Chelsea is married to investment banker Marc Mezvinsky, whose mother was a 1990s one-term Pennsylvania congresswoman."

I didn't know Chelsea married an investment banker. I wonder what political favors the Clintons gave over the marriage because that one looks pretty dang political.

You didn't know she married him? It was all over the news at the time... The media was trying to figure out where they were holding the wedding so they could crash it and etc.

When Sanders and his horde of college-age warriors take to the sword and raze Wall Street to the ground, the Clintons will honor their house's ties of blood and meet them on the field of battle.

However through an ironic twist once Sanders wins the war he will become CEO of JP Morgan.  He will immediately revoke all the board memberships of JP Morgan and assign them to 18 year old socialists with no personal histories but random personality traits.  Bernie and the socialists will then proceed to run JP Morgan exactly the same way as before.  Bernie will die 2 years later of plague whereupon his granddaughter Sunnee Sanders becomes the youngest CEO the ever rule a major investment bank at the age of 14.  Between the time she is 14 and 16, the rule of JP Morgan will completely devolve so that the various branch offices are completely independent.

Then, at the end, the ghost of Friedrich Engels shall emerge from beyond the veil to judge the hearts of all workers. To those on his left he shall say "Comrades, you have kept my dialect and the class consciousness, come forth into communism". But those on his right shall say "Sanders 2016!" and he shall respond "Depart from me workers of the bourgeoisie into the fires of production, you never knew me". And they were cast out into eternal torment in the lake of investment.

Then socialism and the old Earth shall be swept away by His might, each rock no bigger then a pfennig. Amen.
