I was well read, so I knew where the passage referred to. I set out for the crypt immediately.
(Geography +10, History +10)

I rode Dog to the crypt that was mentioned in the old book. It was in a small town in the center of Daria. The crypt was locked up tight, but much more interesting than that, it seemed to be impenetrable to magic.

I picked the lock without magic. (Needs 75 Thievery)
I spoke to the local priests.

"Even we do not enter that crypt," the old priests said.

I told them that I needed to get inside.

1) I knew where the key should be kept. (Needs 80 Religion)
I talked the priests into getting me into the crypt. (Needs 50 Personality)
I charmed the priests into letting me into the crypt. (Needs 70 Enchantment)

2) I beat up the priests. (Needs 40 Fighting)
I roasted the priests in fire. (Needs 40 Conjuration)
3) They couldn't help me.

As MUCH as I would love to beat up the priests to raise the fighting skill... it seems like a bad thing to do...

1, although I doubt the populace will approve of undead slave labor, if that is what this is. Not that undead with no consciousness could be deprived of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, or anything like that.

There was a system in place for old crypts and where the keys were stored. I simply walked into the temple, opened the drawer to where they were held and took them. I returned to the crypt and went inside.
(Religion +10, Thievery +10)

The crypt was amazing. I was delighted to find an entire alchemical lab and workroom. It didn't take me long to realize that I had stumbled upon everything necessary to turn myself into a lich: an undead mage, undying and eternal.

1) I burned down the crypt, destroying the evil equipment.
2) I broke down the equipment and sold it.

I started going over the equipment, eager to try the transformation that would damn myself for eternity. (Needs over 100 Evil)

Why OHH why is turning yourself into a lich require 100 evil? Dungeons and dragons has a context for that.

Look, we need to raise a psychopath who will murder God, we have no time to be spending on cooking.

the way your fingertips plant meaningless soliloquies makes me think you are the true evil among us.
