1, we can do something for our family too.

2. We worked hard to get here, so I'd say our (adopted) son should too.

2 - if he's any good he'll make it on his own, if not it would surely send the wrong message to force him somewhere.

Harold had no help from me, and became…

1) …a soldier.
2) …a servant.
3) …a thief.
4) …a wizard.
5) …a priest.

A thief! Then we can tell Maris to piss off. Even though we don't need her anymore...

I'm pretty sure we're already done with our adventuring party, after beating the dragon.

I was honored to hear that Harold had been accepted into the Academy. We often discussed the arcane and other things that were taught at the Academy.
(Arcana +20)

The barbarian clans to the north had always been a constant threat to Daria, but their lack of true organization and leadership had always kept them in check. This seemed to change overnight when we began to hear about villages along the northern border being raided by hordes of wild north men. I left Tornassa and traveled to one of these border villages in order to see for myself.

The village I stayed in reminded me of where I grew up, making it especially difficult when the attack came. It reminded me of the elf attack upon my own home all those years ago. The screaming bearded barbarians were ruthless in their assault.

I sent waves of fire against the attackers. (Needs 70 Conjuration)
I organized the villagers into an excellent fighting force. (Needs 75 Warcraft)
I hired fighters from the Fighters Guild to protect the village. (Needs 60 Fighter Guild Faction and 500 Gold)
I raised the local cemetery to fight for us. (Needs 65 Necromancy)

I allowed the barbarians to destroy the village.
I failed to defend the village.

I'm sure that the barbarians had no idea what hit them. The villagers used many advanced strategies under my command. We kept the village safe from the barbarian horde, forcing them to give up their raid.
(Warcraft +10, Fame +1)

I managed to find one injured barbarian who had been left for dead.

I used my magic to enchant him to follow me. (Needs 65 Enchantment)
I healed the barbarian. (Needs 60 Healing)
I let the barbarian die, but then I raised him as my undead slave. (Needs 80 Necromancy)
I tortured the barbarian for information.
I let the barbarian die and didn't raise him back.

Even though he was an enemy to me, I healed him. He had been injured quite badly, so even with my magical Healing, he needed a few days of rest after the raid. He slowly began to trust me. On the third day, he told me that the barbarians were going to attack Tornassa! He came with me when I returned home.
(Healing +10, Good +20)

I got back just in time to see the first ships appear on the horizon.

I went up into my tower and began casting fire down upon the ships. (Needs 90 Conjuration)
I turned the water into air…and then back again. (Needs 90 Transmutation)

I used my wizardly staff.
I stood back and allowed the capital city to be raided while protecting my tower.
I tried to stop the barbarians, but I failed.

The staff felt very warm in my hand. It was as though it could sense my need. I stood on the shore and held the staff above my head. My arcane power washed through me and then struck out at all of the ships at the same time, a bright white light of pure energy. The ships all fell apart and sunk deep into the lake, killing the barbarians and ending the attack.
(Fame +1)

I knew that the barbarians had to pay for what they had done, so I left for the far north, planning to find the Barbarian King and end the war. My barbarian companion helped me to find their stronghold very quickly. The north lands were cold and beautiful. I had never crossed over the Gray Mountains before, although I had been beneath them—visiting the dwarves—but never had I gone so far past them.
(Geography +10)

Eventually, I found the Barbarian King. Unfortunately, he was surrounded by thousands of warriors.

My barbarian companion led me through the warriors.
I cast an Illusion to make myself look like a barbarian. (Needs 70 Illusion)
I had no way to get past the warriors, so I went home.

He walked boldly through the warriors, ignoring their stares and insults. I walked with him until I stood before the Barbarian King himself.

"Why have you come?" the Barbarian King demanded.

"I am Gorl Rockeater, royal wizard to King Travis," I told him. "You must stop these senseless raids immediately."

Instead of listening to me, he laughed. Soon, all of the barbarians around him were laughing as well.

I talked him into ending the raids. (Needs 80 Diplomacy and 40 Personality)
I used magic to force him to listen to my words. (Needs 90 Enchantment)

1) I challenged him to a magic-free duel.
2) I gave up and went home.
