If you could pick the next squire's starting location, would it be...

A southernly port where cultures and norms of society mix and clash with each other?
A westernly city akin to Marienburg, home of current squire in play?
An easternly outpost at the edge of kingdom's borders, a beginning of thisverse's Silk Road?
A northernly fortress where young men prove themselves in combat with giants, wildlings and mystical beasts?
Centre of the kingdom, trapping the young squire in a thick web of decadent court's schemings and plots?

Oh, it was just pain...
say thanks to redfort then get all our gear together and leave as quickly as we can. After we buy all the provisions we will need.
Anyway, +1

I imagine we'll be given the things we need, foodwise and the like.

See if we can find a bandanna or something to cover our mark. Or a hat, at least. Something.

Yayyyyyyy.

Alright...
Continue down the road.  Ask him what dangers we can reasonably expect to encounter.

Well, this is good. In a way, things are being brought up and are being concluded.

"Well, I thank you for revealing such a close secret. I will keep it as secret as I can."

-1 to the magician suggestion. Otherwise just go down the road as normal.

"It is more than enough, thank you for your hospitality. May I explore the grounds, or are there limits to where I am allowed to go?"

We need to consider branding ourselves over our unfortunate brand.  We can make up any story we want about the scar then.  And if we get a decent professional (doctor?) than it may even look decent afterwards.
