If you could pick the next squire's starting location, would it be...

A southernly port where cultures and norms of society mix and clash with each other?
A westernly city akin to Marienburg, home of current squire in play?
An easternly outpost at the edge of kingdom's borders, a beginning of thisverse's Silk Road?
A northernly fortress where young men prove themselves in combat with giants, wildlings and mystical beasts?
Centre of the kingdom, trapping the young squire in a thick web of decadent court's schemings and plots?

"I am the son of (insert fathers name), an I am here to join the city guard. I am a proficient fighter and venture in helping protecting the innocent and punishing the unjust.

May I speak with Sir Fallworth?"

Didn't see this sorry fancy kitty :(

I've been told that this two-color palette is 'bright and kinda hurts eyes'. Is anyone else finding this eye-blasting too? Personally it's quite dark on my side...

Leave after saying thanks. Maybe we can find a higher end inn to sleep in if we give them a bit of labor like mopping their floor or something.

Approach the officer boldly and challenge him to a friendly duel of skill, to prove you are the better at arms and regain your pride!

Be courteous, as a knight-in-training should, and ask to inquire with the kind innkeeper about room and board for the night for a wayward squire. See if you can talk the innkeeper into possibly reducing the rate by a ducat or two if he lets us do some labor for him. If not, thank him for his time and head to that other inn.

Apologize as gracefully as you can; you were taught in other arts than those of literacy. A verbal rundown of a few of the rooms would be greatly appreciated, perhaps?

Hm. I say we take the plain room with breakfast. We can probably find other ways to bathe.

Use the Five Ducats to Purchase Companionship! We could use a party meat-shield after all.

Trust me, You do not want that kind of meat shield.

"I really do appreciate your honesty. My illiteracy is a side effect of my unfortunate love of the cruder arts of the blade and the bow, my lack of training in the former is due to my overabundance of the latter. I will have The Plain room, and a Breakfast please."
