I had the same problem. I had to use the (R)ooms menu, and scroll through armok knows how many pages of tables and chairs to find out.

The kilns:  3 are located on the top of Pencil_Art's roof, and one in his basement. His house is south and a little east of the pickled plum.  It is large,  and made of wood.

The smelter is in E.V.'s place, almost due south of the plum. the smelter is on the ground floor and just outside the house. The smithery is in her basement, in the northwest quadrant of her home.

The stone mason's workshop is situated in the stone house packed up real tight against the neighbor's, just north and west of Koreg's mansion.

The fishery is on the roof of the fishery owner's house, almost due east of Koreg's place.

The bone crafting workshop is located directly adjacent to the refuse pile.

The wood burning workshop is on the roof of your renter's rental property, the woodworks is inside the rental property.

The stills are located on the second and third floors of my cramped, squalid shack-tower.

The clothier and weaver are to the west of me.

My renter for milling industry is in my new rental property, south and east of my house.

The kitchen is inside the plum.

I just used dfhack Search to find them in the rooms menu.

Luxury.  I loaded the game with .40.21, which is what the old save said it was for on DFFD. no dfhack for that version that I could find.

I just trolled through the endless sea of tables, chairs, cabinets, etc... looking for workshops. Toady really should categorize thar Rooms menu.

Still, I found everything I needed.  Hugo asked, so I thought I would help him out.

Thanks! I could still assign things through the manager, but then I'd have to wait on the actual manager, and he might give jobs to any illicit workshops there might be.

No update tonight, for IRL has punched me in the gut. In addition to recreating the lost schoolwork, I missed an essay being assigned, and now it's already late.

Is there an acceptable way to build additional fisheries at the moment? Also, can a kennel be build, if all these animals are to be trained?
Also, what plot against her majesty may be afoot?

Granite 14th

The elves have arrived today with their caravan. I know Wierd would demand a show of force, but frankly we don't have the manpower to spare for something so petty, between all the urgent work. I doubt they'll bring anything we can use, but if they have any food, I shall procure it from them.

At least the earthenworks seem to be going well. We've had most of the village working on them, me having to remind my apprentice that the cage shortage is also pressing (though bless her heart for thinking of the homeless.) She has since finished the quota of twenty cages I assigned, which should be enough to fill the traps again. The queen finally got her spikes, too, though for some reason acquiesced to their immediate melting down for other uses. I suspect she only wanted to test her influence here. Well, at least that ought to satisfy her on the incomplete tower for a while longer, enough to get more vital things done, I hope. That other official she brought will just have to wait.

I've had some thoughts on our meat problem. I know there are plans to tame and breed some of these wild animals we caught, but surely we don't need all of them. Some of these kangaroo bucks are quite sizeable, and redundant as well. Our swine have multiplied, too, so I'll have some of them slaughtered, too.

I think fishing is an owned industry rather than a rented one so there's nothing preventing redundant workshops.

The trapping industry unlocks training zones.

Oh crap, I knew there was somewhere I forgot to post about this. I went to a convention this weekend, and I'm still recovering from that. I should have time to do a lengthy update tomorrow, though.

So... Ambidextrous is dwarfed and a militia captain, which gives him the ability to sponsor an industry (fishing), but neither he nor his sponsor have any legendary skills, so how many tiles is he allotted? I'm not sure on the relative ranking of nobles.

militia captains and other immediately available nobles get 10 extra tiles.

Every dwarf is allowed 25 tiles of personal property. (5x5 houses are what I have been building. Exactly 25 tiles, which results in 3x3 tiles of floor space)

Founders get more than this, per the rules on page one of this thread. Founders can improve the number of tiles they are alloted as a perk of using their advantage in land parcelling to improve the community's infrastructure and quality of living. They can build their homes as tall as the highest ranking noble's home is. (This means I can now build a 6 story shanty-tower for my home, still be in my 25 tile footprint, and have quite a few interesting things going on, while still sponsoring an industry.)

Only founders can sponsor an industry, as such sponsorship is really just a clever way of allocating the property that they own. It's an extension of the "No community property, all things must be owned" rule.  The founder owns the physical property that the renter is renting.  The renter runs the shop, but does not own it.

Notable dwarves (Dwarved and legendary) are allowed to own an industry, but cannot sponsor other industries.

Nobles get special allotments, in accordance with their ranks. The exact breakdown is in the spoiler on page one of this thread.

Sorry for delays. I did play on Friday, but medical stuff happened this weekend. I do have a long post in the works, though.

By the way, what's with that suspended "Make iron guantlets/R" job?

Granite 20th

Ambidextrous has decided, at my suggestion, to expand his lodgings to accommodate additional fisheries. We have so much unprocessed fish going to waste, and such a deficit of food to make up, and so we need this expansion urgently. But materials must be requisitioned, and labor diverted from the housing project. That's the problem around here: everything is needed done urgently, but we have only so many hands...

In other news, though, trading with the elves goes well. I did not expect them to have much of use, but they had a small supply of various fruits, as well as several animals, all of which could help with our food situation. They also had a tame female grizzly bear, which may prove useful in other ways. For this, and not wanting to expend so many haulers when all hands are needed elsewhere, I paid for it all with just a couple pieces of our ironwork that were lying around.

Slate 2nd

One of our militiafolk, Zulban Geberith, has given birth to a lovely girl! Through the hard work of our fisherdwarves, cooks, farmers, and butchers, I am confident we shall be able to feed this new mouth. Construction is nearly complete on the Westernmost of the new tenements, soon they will be roofed and ready for five dwarves to move in. The next row is nearly ready to have the doors installed.

Slate 18th

The earthenworks housing project is more than halfway complete now. I feel like I've been idle with my hands a bit overlong and need more excuses to get away from the sounds of Tekkud, so I've been back at carpentry, helping my sponsor to fill the demand for cabinets. We're dreadfully short on them: many have taken to leaving their clothes about the floor, moldering and going to rags. Well, no more.

The Queen keeps demanding spikes, and we keep making them and melting them down. Such a strange, demanding woman, but I suppose it's good practice for our smith. She's had one of them installed in that grand room of hers, though, to admire.

Koreg's pet owl has been neglected for too long and seems to have forgotten its training. It's beginning to throw tantrums, making a huge amount of noise from its cage. I don't know when next a trainer will be able to stop by. Most of them are so busy hauling sandy clay...

Slate 23rd

I don't believe it: we've run out of logs. Somehow the trees marked for chopping never were! Still, no time like the present to fix that. At least we should have adequate charcoal for a while.
