Now I've got to prepare something specifically for Mega Gengar.

EDIT: Route 8 chosen.
Spoiler: Round 4 Team (click to show/hide)

Does anyone have a Protect TM they'd be willing to trade?

Really?  I didn't know we were playing Ubers.
Players cannot use the following items:
Gengarite
Kangaskhanite
Lucarionite
Mawilite

EDIT:
Ah, I see.  But, it's been authorized by Bluerobin directly, so I guess we're game.  This ought to be fun. ^_^

Oh, I missed it, actually. I never use Gengar and forgot about that. :-\ Well. Hrm. I guess we'll try it. Bump the levels down to 55 instead of 56 and we'll try it. If nothing else, even if everyone loses we'll all have received the same number of Passes, so it's not unfair.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

I was going to plead with Rory to not use MGengar, and that was one of the reasons, but eh. It'll be a challenge.

(the other reasons would have been "it kills everything forever" and "why should our opponent get toys [mega stones] that we can't have yet")

Hrm. I think... what I'm going to do instead is say that we can use mega stones from this round on, so we get them a round early. Other than probably having to change up your teams, does anyone have objections?

I have none, though it is kind of thematically appropriate to have the villains use Mega evolution one step before we receive it.  I'll likely alter my team slightly based on the final decision, though.

Yeah, and I didn't really want to introduce mega evolutions until we had full teams, so no mega stones for us yet. Alright, I'll clarify the rules a bit for the future, but Rory's good to use the team that's posted.

Hey guys, I think the Team Vogue team is beatable. I'm trying to use Mega-Gengar is a unique way, though maybe I'm not, I don't follow the competitive scene. To give you the most benefit I'm bumping the levels down to 55 and I will include the entire team's export text so you can plan as much as possible.

Spoiler:  Team Vogue (click to show/hide)

Vogue vs. Urist Loss! Looks like it isn't so hard after all. (Or I'm bad)
Vogue vs. Culise Loss.

Huh. I think I actually can beat that with my setup. How about that.

EDIT: Challenged the Team Vogue leader, got rekt so hard I was granted a do-over. The second time went much better.

Warning: Mega Gengar ain't got shit on Weavile.

Just so you know, this week is finals week at my University so I will be on Showdown sporadically for short periods of time.

I'll try and be on. Today and tomorrow are going to be miserable for me, but the rest of the week should be ok.

Lost to Bluerobin.

EDIT: Looks like I need to put some actual effort into Umbreon's nickname. Apparently naming it Vaporeon doesn't work.

Win against Culise.
TIL that nicknames on Showdown are apparently limited to 18 characters.
