With Spain now in tatters, France propose that the various provinces be handed to their righteous owner in September.

Is this France offering me peace and my lands back, or offering England more rewards for being the only trustworthy vassal in Europe?
Well screw you too Spain.

In order to help the overburdened imperial administration, Albion will manage Portugal and Switzerland over the summer.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Ahem.
((Just to make things clear, trade is instant. You can trade technology at any time, but you can only trade provinces on your turn. ))

Ouch. Crap. Also, I realize I've not enforced that rule in the past (Albion 'traded' Valencia before its turn, I handed Catalonia to Albion after my turn).

Trading at the end/after a turn is not a problem, as you did exactly that when you set that precedent.

Likewise, I assume that trading before posting a turn wouldn't be a problem either.

Certainly not. Just because I make a mistake with the NPC's actions doesn't mean that the rule warp around my mistake. I'll retcon the province handovers from this turn.

I'll however change the rules for province trade. Provinces and technologies can be traded at any time, but the trade will only be effective at the end of the turn, like treaties. I'm not sure whether provinces should be traded before or after RPs are calculated, I'm waiting for your opinions on this.

In that case, you'll have to take back the cypriotic islands as well, as those were given to the Ottomans after your turn.

Edit : Kind off annoyed that first you retroactively remove portugal, contrary to what was agreed, then retroactively remove Catalonia.

However, since the situation in #61 and #64 is unclear and unstable, we are willing to transfer both of them to Albionese administration for the moment, which would bring resources for two extra regiment to be raised in #3 and #5. Catalonia and Madrid would be permanently transferred to Albion after its troops are moved. All of this on the understanding that all ante-bellum French provinces are to be returned to France during the final settlement.

The wording clearly implies that both would transferred before my turn, which is how I originally interpreted it.

On a side note, considering you can only transfer stuff to me on your own turn, shouldn't you have given the territories to me in your turn, without knowing if I hold up to my part of the deal?

If not, and you thus rule that the deal can only be proposed in your part of the turn, then the deal last turn was perfectly valid and should have gone through.

If you follow the new rules, then last turn's trade was perfectly valid and should have gone through.

In fact, the only rule breach is you deciding not to trade Portugal following my succes in Spain.

Yeah, but that happened a while ago, and it doesn't actually change anything anymore. Same for Valencia.

Uhm, you took Catalonia back,  and nefore that reneged on the Portugal deal.

That was a violation of your rule.

Anyway, recap :

- I should have Portugal, there being no valid rule interpretation under which you could have reneged that deal.
- I should have Catalonia,
        - Trades are validated once both parties fulfilled terms : You traded it in exchange for movement orders
        - Trades are validated part by part : You give it to me now, hoping I keep my promise.

What rule?
Trades have to happen in your turn. You worded  the transfer as being immediate, then retroactively undid it based on the results of my turn. Which is a breach of that rule.

Well,
-You asked me to edit your order to attack Andalusia, so I figured I could edit my deal.
-Sadly, as a1s pointed out, France could not trade Catalonia or Portugal to you.

Well,
-You asked me to edit your order to attack Andalusia, so I figured I could edit my deal.
-Sadly, as a1s pointed out, France could not trade Catalonia or Portugal to you.
- My edit was made well before you posted the turn. And the point of your rule is that you can't edit your offer based on my turn. The rule says that your offer has to be made in your turn, ie before my turn starts. THUS, you can't edit your actions on the basis of what I do.
- Why not? We're in the exact same situation now as we are then.(End of your turn, beginning of mine) So either you could give them to me then, or you can't give them to me now.

A1s comment is only relevant to your second offer of trade, which is irrelevant because the first one shpuld have gone through.

Why can't I give them to you now?
