I'm using Emperor Wars 3.4a, but I notice that in the last week 3.4b has come out. Will we have to start over with that?

With a smug grin on his face the pilot didn't even bother to raise his visors before talking to a noble. "Emergency Order 001 from the New Head of the House."

"New...Head? What? Why wasn't i informed!"

the pilot gestures to two marines behind the noble. " I have no time for this, this is a priority emergency order and i have to fulfill it now, by this order you will be removed from the ship."
in wardly the pilot grinned as he took off and left a raging Tchaikof in the dust. He never liked them. Finally some fresh wind had come to Decados.

silently the crew and its passengers awaited an answer from the Al-Malik, hpefully they would be allowed to pass through their space...or they had to turn around.

This is a SNC News Report, I am Joakim Ladislav and this are the breaking news: Renewed fighting against rebel elements on the Valistrav subcontinent has forced thousands to abandon their homes as heavy fighting spilled into the cities. Commander of the Valistrav Force Baron Fredrik Korchev in an earlier interview told us that the rebellion was successfully quelled and now mop-up operations would begin. he is confident that by the next year the area will be pacified.

House Hawkwood has been many things these past few centuries.
Proud? Perhaps.
Stoic? Indubitably.
Unscrupulous? That's a new one...

Verily it has been chronicled that House Hawkwood stands alone against the rising darkness that dwells at the Periphery of the Phoenix Empire. The Vuldrok Star-Nations, barbarians really, raid the outer worlds killing all in their path for rich plunder. There is also the Ur-Ukar, aliens conquered in times gone by, who prey on the peaceful settlers who only seek a home of their own. They foment rebellion at every turn, turning possibly idyllic worlds into horrific warzones.

Though these fiends vex humanity, it has been the Esteemed Families of House Hawkwood that stand against these grave threats. But even with such forces arrayed against them, the minor families feud and pay no heed . It should not take decades upon decades to defeat these vile wretches, and one particular Noble is about to forever change the destiny of his House...

Every major family leader that makes up House Hawkwood is represented here this day, from the bloodthirsty Fenrises to the haughty Hapsburgs. Sneering Rocheforts, vain vonBuellens and even a noble from the small clan of Poindexters, all attend what has been promised to them as an historic occasion. Except, strangely, one very important family.

Cries of disbelief meet this proclamation as a powerfully built man in rich furs and plate mail ascends the dais. He leisurely sits on the Throne and answers their startled gasps:

"The time for half measures is over. We have been held back too long by effete fops that do not even respect our vow of Noblesse Oblige. Cowards who dare call themselves Battlemasters, fools who hide behind Ancient Documentariums proclaiming their legitimacy."

One courageous nobleman retorts, "So it is to be Despotism then? Tyranny?!"

Marking the dissenter's face for later Tencendur Hawkwood threatens,"You will obey the Rule of Law set forth in your oaths of fealty. You will message your armies to march, your sons and daughters to arm for war. If it is so displeasing to you to destroy our historical enemies once and for all, speak now so that I may add you to their number."

Uneasily, the noble families realize that the exits are barred and the Palace Guards weapons were free.

Smiling cold eyes met theirs and he replied, "Choose wisely, you shall be staying here for quite some time."

A lone Decados member of the Romanovs was duly noting down everything that was going on. Like so many other families the Romanovs had been sent away to do diplomatic duties. However the Romanovs gained an important diplomatic post among the major houses, not like the Tchaikofs or the Sobors who were sent to useless assignments. as such Jaroslav paid exact heed on what was going on, but keeping in the back and silent as per orders. Decados would keep its head low for now and just observe the politics and wait for potential courtships on the political stage, not actively courting but beckoning with a revealing bosom like a Iustinian Courtesan.

House Li Halan announces it has routed a small nest of Symbiots which had lain dormant in the wilds of Kish, somehow undetected by the Imperial Stigmata for years. This threat to the known worlds has been laid waste, and it was discovered what had drawn them so far from their abominable hives -- the Scythe of Bounty, a relic of St. Ceres who used it to stave off famine on Kish many centuries ago. The Scythe was lost during the tumult of the latter years of the Second Republic, and is now safely in our keeping, to be used to the greater glory of the Pancreator.
