Actually, it's an image inspired by a Northern children story in the asoiaf books-your characters would probably have been told it at some point.

Lots of black, gold and grey, heavily shod with armor+ornate masks and helmets.

That's actually why they are called "Ironborn"-they aren't afraid of drowning due to their religious beliefs, so they usually wear heavy iron armor when raiding on their ships. Gives them a marked advantage against "Greenlanders" who are lighter armored when sailing.

Alright, thanks to the post limit on the PM's, I'm taking it here.

Lucus, ONE unit of peasants (That's GREEN, may I add.) Is not going to hold up against several units scaling the walls. NO amount of warfare skill is going to make up for the training and equipment of that particular unit, and being in the midst of a fortress means that no amount of manoeuvre will save you. And any unit could easily overun the peasants just by the simple fact that peasants are neither armoured, trained or well equipped. I'm not seeing this sabotaged because you have your head in the clouds.

As an aside, why the heck are you using PM's for this dwarmin? It would be easier just to use the thread :|
