And you get reported and the thread gets closed? I like these threads, I'm getting really frustrated seeing them get locked

... like you're currently doing, as well?

Perhaps take this two-person discussion to PMs? It's what they're there for...

He opposes him less than the alternatives
That is pretty much my position towards Putin in a nutshell.

relatively good and benevolent
If there was any chance of Russia getting a just, democratic, liberal and honest leader, all of which our current president is not, that would be amazing, but since the only choices we have are A) only somewhat corrupt, competent, benevolently autoritarian Putin and B) his oligarch opponents, all of whom are thoroughly corrupt and not the least bit competent or benevolent, Putin remains the best choice due to being the lesser of the two evils.

Yes he opposes the good benevolent leader whose behavior he unfailingly rationalizes.
There are reasons why people might support leaders other than blind devotion, you know.

So basicly we wait until the new generation of politicians gets into highest ranks and then we see what happens.

I prefer no change to change for the worse, which will definitely occur if Putin is removed.

Yep. Changing a leader in a middle of or uneasy situation we are having right now is the worst thing to do, especially considering lack of alternatives. The latter may change in time, though.

1) I was talking about giving a shit about lack of alternatives, not demanding immediate change.
2) No change until there isn't a crisis effectively means no change ever.

Your first point I cannot parry.
As for second, we tried changing government in the middle of crisis twice in previous century. 1917 and 1990's. We do not like how that happens anymore.

So isn't it so convenient that when late last year the Russian economic prospects dimmed and lo and behold a crisis just happened to crop up.

Pro-Russian article time: https://www.jacobinmag.com/2014/09/timothy-snyders-lies/ - WW2 flavour.

If you don't like politics, stop reading after it stops talking about the partisans.

Russians, you should consider living without the leader.
It is  hard but it is worth trying. Try to take responsibility for the fate of your country in your hands instead of looking for yet another benevolent Tsar who will do your work.
