I think we should pay fairly and not kill the guy. Unless he tries to cheat us.

I feel like I'm being a wiener by bringing this up so often, but the wizards soul still needs a permanent residence, and a golem seems like the perfect thing. We should purchase enough scrap metal to shape a body using a changing sigil.

Or a homunclulous, I think you can put souls into false bodies like those.
I'm guessing Crackpot sigil 2 could help us with getting the required ingredients.
Also, why do you think I put in the action to make the changing sigil? To make nice cookies?

I'm not sure we have that kind of precision in mutation, and besides, this guy would probably just charge us money for it out of spite, even if it was worthless to him.

I bet the mutate spell needs very good rolls to even start to succeed, otherwise it would enormously overpowered.

You drop the little Rusted iron plate into the oasis water, and it begins liquifying. the rust melts off of the iron, forming a pool at the bottom next to the pearlized bone. The plate itself begins to warp under it's weight as it too liquifies slowly.

You Transform the flawless crimson gem into a golem core, A faint light shimmers from within. -3 Mana.

There is no more room on your cart for the scrap metal.
