Well it just wouldn't be fun that way.
Plus the guy probably has like a trillion precautions for that.

Good point but..what about magma?

Might as well grab some bones, could be of some use to us. Also, collect crystals. Use hamaxe if necessary.

I'm up for that +1.

-1 to burning it down, because that would mean less loot.

+1 to grabbing bones and crystal.

You have your zombies gather up bones and crystals, and go into the tunnel.

The chittering sound intensifies, and you peer around the corner into a large cavern, filled with strange bugs, carting around objects such as swords, cannons and piles of gold, arranging them below some strange centipede like agglomeration of the same.

"I'm afraid not, Those are merchant beetles, their bodies contain precious metal and gems, my magic would be as harmful to them as water would be to a pipe. That besides, These particular creatures are known from their amicable nature, Like many other treasure oriented beasts, they seek out valuables with a fervor, as it is required for them to reproduce, but these ones grasp the concept of trade, and only attack if they feel they have been cheated.  They don't speak common however, but they may understand it."

Let's leave them be for now. I don't think we have anything of value for trade.

Cept for out red ruby in our inventory, though I doubt we really need anything.
Well, let's just offer them the ruby, see if they like it, even if it hasn't been cut yet.

Well, a hard shell made of magical metals that reflect both magic and might alike? I have no inkling of what could harm such a benign, but immune beast.

You place the red gem on the ground in front of the pile, and the largest one skitters up, it rears back and vomits a powerful acid onto the gem, before slurping up the burgundy puddle.

Before you have a chance to be offended at the consuming of your property, it runs over to the pile of treasures and picks out an object, laying it in front of you.

You pick it up, it appears to be a perfectly cut gem of a slightly smaller size, A beautiful scarlet color all throughout.

The creature scuttles off to the rest of its kin, jumping, chittering and gesturing to you excitedly.

The others shift their balance, seeming to look at you curiously.

You pass by the merchant beetles and go further down the tunnel, through winding ways you come to the three apparitions again, looking more solid than before, but no less incorporeal.

I'm starting to see our shapes now, we can't afford to waste any more time because those things are soon going to become real.
