Are you (or were you) satisfied with a Varee lynch? If yes, why didn't you extend if you were concerned about the other lynch votes being random, if no, why didn't you unvote or extend?
Asking the same question, I assume this means that I did not answer to your satisfaction.
Short answer: Yes, I was satisfied, but less so than I would be with your lynch.
I did not extend because I did not think to. I tend to assume that extensions tend to go unused, so are not really worth it. And looking at most of the games I've played in recently, this is true; despite some efforts to converse after an extend, usually the town lynched the same person anyways.
So I'm used to an extend not being worth it, so I didn't think about doing that.
If the bolded part were true, you'd have a point. How does me voting someone with a question at the start of the game help me find scum better then me just asking a question? How does an unvote count as a scumhunting action in your book?
By pinning a vote to your question, during what I will remind you again is called the "random VOTING stage" (or do you use the V in RVS for something else?), then it becomes a pointed question. A question without a point is like a twig; useless in battle. A question with a point becomes an arrow, that forces the player to answer and creates more discussion than a twig.
Unvoting indicates that you were satisfied with the other player's answer, and are not tunnel visioning. Which means that you are willing to look at other targets, and spread out your scum-hunting, instead of filling two pages with an arguement about whether a case is or is not weak.
Also, voting and unvoting are just activity, period. If I don't count them as wheightier than someone just saying "Hai guys I'll be back later", then I get no scum-hunting done at all.
What. part. of. I. wasn't. available. at. day. start. for 24. hours. doesn't. register?
The part where I don't believe it. You've always been an active player, compared to some others I could mention, and though you don't spam posts, you are usually active early.
What part of you can't lurk on D1 because lurking can only be seen after a long period of time do you not understand?
The part where lurking is not defined as being absent for over 3 RL days; that's defined as "out of the game and being replaced".
And Day 1 takes place OVER a long period of time, often including a weekend; or two, in rare cases. It's very possible to be absent over a weekend, which is a long period of time; therefor, it's very possible to lurk Day 1.
How does one post at the start of the game when there is nothing to work with mean more content then multiple posts later on in the day?
Considering the number of questions he answered and the number you answered in those respective posts appear to be the same? And he included actual content instead of fluff in his answers?
How about the fact that he didn't have three identical answers?
How could you take a question that goes "Are you being serious about this or are you joking?" to be a joke?
Did you seriously not get that it WAS a joke? Did you really NEED to ask about it?
And that makes me scum because....
Because it's not content! It's not your oppinion! It's complete fluff, words taking general truths and expanding them to take up space.
It's filler. Stuffing.
Instead of being honest and answering, you just pack us with cotton and pull the wool over our eyes.
Also also, the I lurk parts were a joke. I thought that came across, but I guess I was wrong.
Says the guy who can't tell if a question asked to oneself is a joke.
Come up with good reasons why I'm scum.
I would answer with "I'll do it later", but I don't want to copy you.
I would sugar coat my answer with global truths that aren't specific to this case, but I don't want to copy you.
I would quote the mafia wikis and dress them as my opinions, but I don't want to copy you.
I would OMGUS in response to what I saw as a weak case, but I don't want to copy you. Seriously, your case is that my case is weak.
I would assume that my attention will be entirely taken up by your answers and questions, but I don't want to copy you.
I would ignore other cases that are forming in favor of tunneling you, but I don't want to copy you.
I would accuse you of not thinking something through, but you get the picture.
I would assume that if I ended the conversation as fast as possible nobody would ask me more questions and notice me, but etc.
I would assume that not being noticed is a good thing because nobody will think me scummy, but etc etc etc.
I would make an attack with reasons as questionable as possible, but ditto etc.
So you're insinuating that I'm lazy scum. When was the last time you saw me be lazy, town or scum?
Besides now?
Well, in FHPBYOR, as town you were reasonably active, and reasonably not-lazy.
However, in Super7, you were scum. You voted yourself, you actually got accused of having a role where you can lay on your ass, and frequently appologized for not posting, or preteneded to have been not paying attention when something (like your lack of vote) was brought to attention. Much as you are playing now, but without the "lazy bum" role.
You replaced into Choose-Your-Own, were scum, and got put up for damn replacement, because of being too lazy to post.
So you are not lazy as TOWN. However, your lazy dial gets turned way up when scum.
Really. Why do scum not want to put effort into the game? Shouldn't they be the ones who want to put the most effort into the game since they have to fool everyone else?
Scum already know they are scum, they are already informed. If they don't do anything that lets someone know that they are scum, then they can win by blending in to the uninformed.
Basically, if they do too much, they wind up revealing that they know something. Which leads to them being encouraged not to do too much, which leads to doing less, which leads to doing as less as possible.
The most efficient use of a scum's time is letting everyone else bicker about something else while they bide their time. Which also encourages them to lurk, which encourages them to be lazy.
its just that usually (especially when I'm scum) I make a lot of effort to participate in RVS.
Or, as I noticed in Super7 and CYOM, at all as scum.
Stop sounding like a politician and answer the question please.
I am attacking you agressively because it's something I believed might work. It's right after the extension because, since you all extended the day and I'm fed up with extensions going to waste, I wanted to make the best of it and form some cases.
The sentence my vote was attached to was not a "snide remark", a snide remark would have had some level of sarcasm in it.
And I didn't wait until after work because I didn't have to wait. I don't have anybody to wait on. The only thing holding me back is myself. As opposed to having a scum-buddy who's oppinion you want on a strategy, or on who to vote; I assume that's also part of why it takes you so long between posts.
Actually if they're on the same team, they win together. So both would win or both would lose. Why do you think Deathsword and NQT are on different teams? The most likely scenario is they are both town.
There are three cases:
They are both town.
They are both scum.
They are on opposite teams.
I said I was aware of the first two cases, and that taking those into account only evens the odds by making them both equally more likely to win and equally less likely to win.
I never said that Deathsword and NQT have to be on different teams, I was asking that in the event that they are, which one is more likely to win.
Also, that question was directed to Scripten. I finished talking to you at the [ hr ] bar.
