"As I had predicted, that was nothing of consequence. Well, almost."

Grab the rod.
And he never gave it back, now Eastley is the BBEG. Along with the irony that I see in his wording in that very post.

And then comes the reveal that Eastley was the BBEG, the rod was the macguffin key to unlock nasty stuff, and the rest of the campaign is us hunting him down.

...Devon could have taken it from him. I know how and why she could have done it. With Nerjin approval, of course.

edit: er, sorry. Right, so, could I have one of those potions I missed please? And... the scroll of Entangle? If a Ranger can use it at some point.

You may have both the scroll and the potion. I believe a ranger can use it.

If everyone else is cool with it sure. If you guys want to hunt down Eastley I'm also fine with that.

Actually, let me put it another way: if Nerjin thinks that he can handle us jumping the rails on whatever plot he had planned for this, that would probably be the more interesting route. On the other hand, it would also be much less straightforward; at the very least we'd have no bloody idea where to start looking for Eastley.

We could go back and hope to roll a 20 to track him :)

If you guys want to hunt down the rodbearer that'd be fine with me. In fact, it fits into the source material rather well.

Well we have a 3/5 agreement on this barring only Silthuri and Tawa so... I suppose it's cannon now. Will be adding that to the OP for Eastley's entry.

What time of day is it now? If we crossed immediately, would we still have a chance of picking up the trail (i.e. given the light)? Do we know if there's any settlements nearish on the other side?

edit: oh right, re-read that and assume it's mid-afternoon. We should cross immediately! But only to look for the trail before it goes colder I guess, if we're too tired to travel on. If Feckle is the least exhausted and has +7 Listen, he can not sleep some of the night and stand watch? But then he has the best chance of following the trail, so shouldn't be too tired to have any penalties for that, thought I doubt there would be (I imagine fatigue wouldn't affect that?)

1. You guys have been travelling for around 8 hours. Further marching would be a forced march with all associated risks.

2. Crossing doesn't count towards the thing since you'd be on the ferry.

3. You can stand watch.

4. 8 hours from now it'll be getting dark so there would be a penalty of sorts. Just a higher DC though.

Urg. So we shouldn't march further, probably. But there's not a moment to lose! We are following someone, and the trail probably hasn't stopped for us.

I think we should march further, and sleep when it's dark. But I am not an expert in this kind of thing/
