I would suggest putting the cost of the design next to the design.
(The following are from last year)
Squad Machine Gun One (SMG-1)
Lightweight variant of yet unnamed LMG, using a 20rd box mag, still mounted on top. It should be light enough for use by one man, who should also be able to carry ammo with him.
Our first assault rifle?

2) High power engine
-------
Based on the General use engine with these changes.
Two more cylinders added on to raise the displacement to 5600cc.
The lone twin barrel carburetor is removed and replaced with 4 single barrel carburetors mounted on the sides.
With the use of higher octane fuel the engines compression can be raised safely.
Lighted pistons to be installed
The pistons, crank shaft and connecting rods should all be balanced to much lower tolerances, this should let use raise the engine speed.
Engine 5600cc, two-stroke
Layout straight-8
Cooling, Water
5 Engineers to develop a relatively short range solid fueled artillery rocket.

Work on a shaped charge for anti tank and bunker busting purposes. Really, the mathematics behind the shaped charge were discovered in 1888.
15 engineer proposal
Design of a three engine, 150 meter long airship with a gas bag volume of about 20 000 m^3 for scouting purposes.
You can't have an alternate reality without airships after all
Construction of an on-site, reinforced facility for the production of several chemicals. Hydrogen gas, Liquid Oxygen, Methanol, Ethanol and other materials are required for many advanced technologies, such as torpedos, rockets and airships.
Start of public private partnership, to cooperate with public corporation engineers and their equipment. We need more development resources.
(New ones)
Development of a carbine chambered in 7.62x25mm
Semi-automatic, recoil operated, with a 20 round clip located just behind the grip.
Finish construction of new factory
Who wants to design a shipship, and who dosent think that a reliable, modular truck is best for use at the back of the lines?
Also, Glloyd, what engines for the airship and how big of a hangar/chem facility?
