Kockychop is very much a test of some electrical engineering knowledge. It's possible to do if you know nothing of logic gates, but it's far, far more difficult. Of all the zachtronics games, it's probably the one that requires the most specialized knowledge.

Yeah, I was able to intuit my way through that one but the power on reset generator has me completely stumped.  I don't even know where to start.

Ah, yeah, that one is tricky. When your typical "A & !B" gate starts up with a full charge to both inputs, it outputs a signal for one tick before shutting it off. Likewise, when an "A & B" gate starts up with full charge to both inputs, there is a 1 tick delay before the signal goes to the output. So you've now got a delay and a pulse and I think you can figure out what's left (and keep these in mind, as they will be very important for 5, the oscillator)

Other handy tips include such details as '1 line on the verification bar is 5 ticks.'

Hmm, could be interesting.  I still haven't finished SpaceChem either... face-smashingly hard.  :P

Yessss!

I loved both the Codex and Spacechem and actually finished both. Never managed the 'expansion' levels of the codex, though. Kohctpyktop, though, not even one level finished. It's some tough shit and requires a fair bit of learning, it seems.

A small interview about the game

Really not much new information. I was hoping the bigger structures would allow some kind of internal SpaceChem like minigame, but it look like that won't be the case, they are going for manufactoid style.
It will also use Unity.

Zachtronics is great, he made the Codex of Alchemical Engineering and some other really intense programming games in flash.  Didn't he make Infiniminer too?  He did make Infiniminer, as the linked page says.  I didn't play it much but it was a freeware 2-team, class-based competitive minecraft (not a mod, in fact it might have predated minecraft slightly?)  This is probably related.

AFAIK Infiniminer was in inspiration for minecraft.
People used to refer to Minecraft as an Infiniminer knockoff.
