: If that's the case, Ixionian law is clear: those who harbor criminals take the same punishment as the criminals they protect. We will raze the village if necessary, but I will be taking the escapees' heads no matter what.

The pirates move to the village. Not long after, the captain shows up and yells to Kyle.

: Oi, mountain boy! The villagers said we just took down their tax collector, and that they'll try to reward us the best they can for that. Can you believe it? Oh, and they want to give something to the other group too for helping with the matter! I told them we still had something to take care of, so they'll give it later. The rest of the crew will stay there just in case, but I'm going with you.

Albert tilted his head somewhat, clearly surprised at this.

: "Hm? No, not at all." Lamden awkwardly adjusted the quarterstaff on his back with his one good arm to prevent it from falling, "That vow is reserved to the true priesthood of my lands."
