Zane silently wondered to himself how a kid like Albert could hold up a person clad in full mail armor, and not be straining at every joint.

Tough kid.

"Let's get this done. Zane, it is you first - twice. Harlan, it is then you three times. Alessa, you twice, and finally, me once.

Are we ready? Let's start."

[mastahcheese]

"I've been ready. Let's do this."

[Tiruin]

     "Just mention when ready."

[Solymr]

With everyone in position, they started to punch in the code. Zane hit the east button twice, Harlan pressed the west one three times, Alessa pushed the south one twice and Ketsuki punched the north button one final time. And then they waited.

: No traps yet. Does this mean we did it right? But what are we waiti-

Harold was interrupted by a loud rumbling, and from the center of the room a pedestal with a box on top rised up. Harold walked over to it and opened the box.

Inside there was a white sphere with blue lines on its surface pulsing with energy.

: What is this... Is this the artifact they were after?
Lillian heard the voice come back.

They found it. Now it's time for you to play your part.

Lillian felt someone lift her up, still bound, and carry her somewhere else.

"I would hazard a small guess it's magical. Is it safe to touch?"

[UXLZ]

Abel had been previously muttering something about 'god damn simple puzzles', obviously miffed at the lack of complexity in the solution. Until laying eyes upon the artifact, that is. At that point, his eyes shot wide open, and he began to shake...

"That orb, it shouldn't be there. It's just a myth. Something like that thing can't be real. It has to be a trick or an imitation. The Runic Key isn't an object that's possible in this world, I refuse to accept it without proof."

He is obviously quite surprised to see it.

[GiglameshDespair]

"Abel. Explain. What is it?"

[Solymr]

: Wait what? Runic Key? Do you mean this is THE Runic Key?!

[Haspen]

Laura mumbled something after shuffling into the chamber. It sounded like a question.

[Swordstar]

Tomik shook his head, stepped forward and grabbed the orb.

"It doesn't matter. We have what they want, now we're going to get Lilly back."

"Um... Given how the treasure hunter and mage reacted I'm not sure we should really take that. It's probably trapped."

[Swordstar]

"We need it. And I'm the leader, so I'll take the risk."

[Solymr]

: That thing... If that's really the Runic Key, then it's incredibly important. It's supposed to be able to open anything, locks, doors, magic barriers-

Suddenly there was a flash of light behind the group, and a person in dark grey robes with a mask appeared, holding Lillian with one arm.

: That's absolutely correct, my boy. And now you will hand it over to me, and I will give you your friend back. Deal?

In the person's free hand a ball of darkness started forming.

: And don't try anything stupid, if you want your friend in one piece, get what I mean?

"Don't do it. Don't give it to him."
